Congratulations on your win! It is well deserved. You've reminded me of the elegance of the simplicity of words. Not only that, but I love tequila sunrises, as well as your explanation of the gradations of color (never realized the significance).

Thanks, Linda, for this awesome review and all those stars! I learned about these drinks years ago from the movie Tequila Sunrise. I can't drink tequila but I was intrigued by the cocktail. I appreciate your comments and rating. Thanks again. Lynda

Hi Lyndas
This is a good poem that tells us about the plant from which tequila originates. It also uses a pun for the beginning of the day and a cocktail
made with the liquor. I hope the sunrise and drinking don't coincide.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Congrats on winning the contest.

Well, you got a good one yourself, Linda. :) I've been down and blue with all the tequila I swam in. This Mexican threw the worm out one tequila morning, it was a Mexican moaning. This is a good entry for the Hailu Poetry Contest.

Mexican moaning...hahaha! I only drank tequila once, years and years and years ago. That cured me of that! Yikes.

Thank you so much for the great review. I'm sure this is a heavily entered contest, so we'll see. I appreciate all those stars and humorous comments. Have a great night. Lynda

What a great Haiku poem. The image you selected is striking.
I've been to Mexico many times and actually went to a tequila testing class and learned a lot about all the different types of tequilas.
Thanks for sharing your lovely poem.
Kind regards.

Thank you, Moonrise. When researching this plant, I admit to knowing nothing about how tequila was made and where it came from. You learn a lot from Wikipedia and google images. You were fortunate to experience this. I appreciate your review and stars. Glad you enjoyed it. Lynda

A beautifully expressed haiku with an equally apt illustration. The tones of blue are very attractive. As with successful haiku, much is said and suggested beyond the literal meaning!

This Haiku is very clever and a really good entry for the competition. The artwork and presentation are lovely and also the imagery that your words portray. Good luck and best wishes. Jen

Well done with this. Highlighting this marvellous succulent that survives with little rainfall, they look amazingly resilient. This is beautifully written, a great Last line satori, well done Linda, great post, blessings Roy

Well, thank you so much, Roy. I was surprised by this plant in my research. They can grow to a man's height and other varieties are smaller and vary with their blue color. I appreciate this great review and rating. Means a lot to me.

Okay, that was brilliant. I'll admit, I didn't know what tequila was made from but I feel like a more knowledgeable person now that I do. Lol. I'm going to run out and share the joy buy buying a bottle and toasting every shot to this piece. Ha. All kidding aside, this was an excellent haiku. I wish you the best of luck on the contest, Lynda. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

lol. I also admit that when I came up with this idea, I researched what and where tequila came from. A cactus? lol I'd join you in the toasting, but tequila and I don't get along. Ever.

Thank you so much, Mr. Skulls, for these incredible comments and all those stars. Logging this review in my favorites. Much appreciated. Lynda
