sounds like this could be a movie...
I learned a lot about the Selkies life...
and you are so right...you have to believe
in magic...and you can go anywhere...
very nicely written sweetie pie...and your
picture is perfect...what came first???

This is quite an interesting poem. I've never heard of Selkies before. I am not familiar with the Scottish people either. However, your poem is intriguing. Thank you for sharing this knowledge.

Hi Rachel, Scotland is full of myths and legends. I visited there and found the people warm and friendly, unlike the weather! K xx

What a wonderful read, reminds me a bit about a film called "splash" true love is giving the one you love your all, very clever using the last word of a line for the start of the next, very well written, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

Hello Kahpot (what does that mean?) Glad you enjoyed my Selkie poem. I write loop poems without rhyming. Thanks for your good wishes. K xx

I enjoyed this poem for the myth and mystery of it all. The Selkie and the land human. A love match made to test the boundaries. But, where there is a will there is a way. An enjoyable loop poem read.

Of course I loved reading this one about my cousins, the selkies. I did not know about the importance of the coats. Your poem reads like a mini movie and takes the reader to another place. Makes me want to go to Scotland!

I spent a month driving around UK and Scotland. They are such lovely people, the Scots are so warm.
Thanks Elaine for reading. K xx

You did a great job retelling this legend in your
signature style, Aussie. I've read about Selkies.
Your words painted a picture for readers. I liked
your unique approach not only to the theme but
the choice of style.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

You've done a great job with the Selkie legend. This is the first one I've read where the Selkie is male and lures the human woman into the sea. Looks like it worked out very well for both of them.

The human has to love him else he can't take her home. Thank you Dolly. K xx

This is a good loop poem yet it lasted a little too long for my taste. I loved the meaning of it and the author's notes explained well what the meaning was. This is done very well with rhyming words along with looping the beginning word to the end of the next line.
Enjoy the day, my friend!

My dear friend, It is a story/poem therefore it is long, to capture the adventure. Thanks for reading and no more riding broncos' - blessings, Kay.

I understand. I have trouble reading long poems since my eyesight is fading due to glaucoma, among other things.
Have a great week!

Strike me lucky! I have a hole in my left retina and have to have both eyes operated on for cataracts. Keep up with your eye drops. I am an old lady, you are just a junior. I will be 78 in Sept. :-(
-
I had cataract surgery already and still have new eye problems, with five different eye drops to administer three times a day. My age will be 69 in May so, I am not far behind you.
-
We are fortunate here, it won't cost me anything on the Public Health. That's a hell of a lot of eye drops, why? And you only look 50! K xx
