They do say we get addicted to them. Up to a point, I can believe that. Now a phone to me is something you use to calling people. But I will admit it's usefulness is so much else. Ulla:)))

I don't use mine nearly as much as my children and grandchildren do, but it is handy when needed. Thank you for your review comments.

Hahahaa, this is an entertaining piece of poetry dear nomi! What did we do without cellphones. Now we can't even imagine what phones used to be.
Thank you for sharing!
Good luck!
Blessings with hugs and kisses,
Rebekka x

Good morning, Nolan!
What a humorous ode and one that will certainly resonate with many readers; it does with me!
I find my Iphone to be a necessary inconvenience. Sometimes, it seems as if I cannot be without the darn thing. And then I recall all the years that I got on just fine without one!
Thank you for the smile!

Nomi, you have a very fun poem about the Iphone. I was late coming to the Iphone, my first one was an 11, but now I am on 14 max plus, whatever that means.

My wife was an early adapter for the Iphone. When she replaced he first one, she had it framed and hung it on the wall in tribute to Steve Job. Well done. Terry.

Wow! Now that is some serious product dedication. Your wife sounds like someone who is fun to be around. You are definitely blessed. I thank you for your fun review and the interesting detail about the missus.

You capture precisely many people's dependency on their mobile phones. When I was teaching, I often wondered what the kids did all day with their phones clamped to their ears. They certainly did not read books!

Why read anything when you can just listen.

Feel the modern shackle that binds you to itself. In days of yore a string and two jam tins did the trick! I wrote on this subject recently, the piece of technology that 'must have' is a pain in the a.... time wasting tool that stops family sitting down face to face, communicating. Your last sentence sums it up, more important than the wife. K xx

It's not that long ago that they didn't exist. I don't know how we managed without them. Even landlines, I was 18 when we first had one, and we had to share our line with another family. How times have moved on. Would we like to go back to those times? In some ways, I would, but mostly, no. I enjoyed your poem, Nomi. Love and hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

This is more about how things are than how they should be. I wonder what Alexander Graham Bell would say if he were around to see what we have done to his invention:

'If you can bear to hear what you invented
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools
So far beyond whatever you intended
Become life's ruler with a whole new set of rules.'

The cell phone in truth has moved on from being our servant to being a harsh and cruel master demanding our constant attention.

You sir, are a master of the inventive prose. I kneel before your mastery. I am in complete agreement with your assertion. Yet I too am a somewhat willing servant as I do find the use of said devil device useful at times.

Enjoyed your humor in this poem, Nomi. And while you are joking about how essential your phone is, there is an element of truth. We all have become so dependent on our cell phones to keep us connected to the world.

Suggestion:
Somethings I say no one else should hear. (Some things)
