You have a vivid use of words that holds the reader's attention. "Coated with a lot of love and tenderness" is a great line that brings forth warm feelings.

A very important message here about organ donation that gives new life. But the bigger message here is love that is undying and selfless.
Thank you for sharing this very personal experience in this graphic poem, to commemorate your son-s life. Thanks for sharing this heart-wrenching event. This is life saving poetry.

This is a very touching piece. It promotes thoughts in the reader. How one can lose their lives and yet be the to help continue the life of another. In that way, they are still alive for they have been given the greatest gift of life.

With this particular piece I went to a nice depth level which I've been gifted and able to do.
Sometimes when I do this though it can be disturbing to me especially if I go back in time.
    Thanks and as always,

Just think of the people who are living now because of your generous gift. I know it's hard but life does get easier. Thank you for sharing this with us and the reminder of the donor organization.

You have to realize and thanks Barbara that it's not just the lucky person who has the second chance of life with the gift.
But also those people's children, family members besides friends and acquaintances.

There are four very lucky people out there because of you and your son. They are keeping Jason alive. I have signed a form allowing them to use any organs that are worth saving for someone else to benefit on my death. My father gave sight to four people, I don't know how, but there is more to an eye than we realise. I just think of my father 'seeing' through those people. Well done, Ricky! :)) Sandra xx

To give site you have to donate the corneas of each eye. Only two people will be able to have sight cuz there's only two eyes.
As for the rest of the human body, understand as much as 75 people can benefit.
This April Fool's Day 2023 it'll be 20 years that three out of four human beings were walking this planet with my son's heart, lungs and kidneys.
    Thanks,

That's what we thought, but apparently we were wrong. There is more to sight than we realise.

Usually, two corneas from a deceased individual are transplanted into two corneal blind patients. But in the case of actor Puneeth Rajkumar, his eyes were used to restore the vision of four patients. ?Each eye was used to treat two patients by separating the superior and deeper layers of the cornea. This is what happened with my father. xx

I loved reading your poem. It was heartbreaking, uplifting, encouraging, and grieving. You did a nice job with your writing, and being able to make the reader feel all of those different emotions. That takes talent. Very well written, and well done. Thank you for your bravery in sharing your story. Thank you especially with your author's notes.

Wow Ricky, you've endured every parent's worst nightmare and can still find the good in it. That takes a lot of courage. It's hard to know what to say. I drove a Mustang until recently, and now it's been donated to my 17-year-old cousin. Thanks for sharing this tragic story and call to generosity with us.

Poignant, heartbreaking, uplifting, encouraging grieving that's what your poem says to me.
How can a person critique or review that?
In cases like these even a poet's words are not enough But we offer them because it's what we can do.
Your poem is well written in a style that's unique to you and provides a visual no other can provide.
We are all unique in our own way and provide our own picture on things that no one else can copy you are no different.
Very good poem excellent read as always My condolences.

    Thanks Miss Lea.
Condolences are not necessary. It's been almost 20 years.
But your realization that there's life after death in my situation with my child is necessary.
    Thanks and as always,

It's a hard decision to donate a child's organs. We never want to give up hope, but in a way it's not giving up hope, is it? It's giving hope through this gift. Life given from the death of your own. This was stirring and personal. Thank you for sharing. Gretchen

    Thanks Gretchen.
So many people are helped with this gift besides the person who receives it.
    Family, friends, acquaintances.
It goes all the way back in time to even during your school days.
With one person you can touch 75 other human beings with life and continued life.

This must have been hard to write Ricky. Thank you for your bravery in sharing this story, especially in the author's notes.

You gave the gift of life to other's. To me, that is the greatest gift of all.

Your poem left me subdued and speechless, reflecting on your heartfelt and compassionate words. J
