Very nice job, Jessica. It's hard to write such a long poem with so many rhymes for the "or" sound, but you did it beautifully. I can see why this won the contest. You very realistically described the life of a housewife--both how difficult but rewarding it can be. Great job!

Your poem reads like a movie, life turned out pretty good for this housewife. You have a smooth poetic flow of words and lines that makes this a fun poem to read out loud. I admire your ability to come up with the same end rhyme in all lines.

That was well written. You've provided a chronological story that captures each phase of how this woman's life evolved. You've taken her from innocence, incorporated many emotions, and provided a summary of how she felt about her journey. Nice job.

This is one very cool poem, and of course, I am out of sixes. I do think it will do very well in the contest, and good luck. Your writing is as outstanding as your ability to tell a story in a poem. Exceptional. Terry.

I love, love, love this one! It is so true to life. What we all start out wanting to get out of our lives, most of us realise we've ended up with something so much more valuable. That some don't see it that way, is really their loss, because to be responsible for another life is something that is incredibly important. The rewards so much greater. Very well done, this is a fabulous contest entry and you've managed to keep within the rules for the monorhyme. Good luck in the contest! :)) Sandra xx

This is a good entry to the Monorhyme contest. The text is a nice size. The poem reads like a narrative poem. The storyline makes sense and has all the key elements of a good story from exposition to resolution. Your visual fits well too. Good luck in the contest.

A very clever monorhyme, and you developed the story-line very well, describing not only events but her emotions and feelings, in a very realistic way. Best wishes for your entry.

Your lengthy poem has much to enjoy within its lines; a tale of true life, thwarted ambition, lust, obligations, and the rewards of family life. Your choice of monorhyme gave you great scope to explore more and more.

Awe. I remember the fear of finding out I was pregnant. Dad had disappeared. But I would never ever change that. It was one of the very best mistakes I ever made. I love how you wove this story in a poem. And at first I was afraid she was gonna call it quits. But she knew a good thing and like me, wouldn't change a thing. Gretchen
