A fun poem. I can imagine the woman"s reaction to the mouse and the more she shrieks, the more the mouse squeaks.
Very well done and presented.
Best wishes,
Mary

I appreciate the humour in your poetry.
I am not sure if it the fault of my laptop but I had to scroll across to read the poem in it's entirety and to view your accompanying illustration. Perhaps it is the font size selected. I am not sure.
A lovely poem with a funny and unexpected concluding line.

This is the second one of this contest I've read this morning. An interesting style and you've done a great job choosing your first four words and incorporating them into a great little poem. Me too - shrieking - running.
Good luck in the contest. Enjoyed

Thanks for your review. I hope you keep running faster than any mouse in the house.

This is well crafted, and it follows all the little rules that make of this form of poetry perfectly. Good choice and presentation. I could actually believe a mother or most women would run at the sight of a rat or mouse.
Good work.

Thanks for reviewing.
I guess most mothers/women get fixated about cleanliness in the home and see a mouse as vermin rather than a pet to be loved. I actually like mice (not rats so much) but I have a cat who is fixated about not leaving any alive within her orbit.

Your poem is hilarious. This one made me smile with the images of a squeaking mouse and a shrieking woman on a chair I can see the owner standing there with an innocent look on your face. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you.
(Personally, I don't freak out about seeing a mouse so I am never likely to run away screaming. My cat, Lily, deals with any rare trespassing vermin for me.)

This is a very cute and well written Tyburn poem you have penned for the contest about the mouse in the house. You used very good descriptive words and had the correct amount of syllables. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

lol We have so many cats it would seem impossible for us to have any little or big mice! I wish you the best in the contest! Teri
