This is very sweet, and well crafted with the prefect presentation.
I found it touched me. I will have to finish reading all the entries first, but this is strong contender.
Good luck in the voting. Well done.

These romantic moments are like money in the bank for a relationship and the loyalty, friendship and love pave the way to a happy future and a firm foundation of history makes us feel safe, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

You did a very good job with writing the ABC poem and it does express mood in the saying that you set. Good luck in the contest and may you always be blessed. Patricia.

Excellent capture of times past. The photograph lends itself so well to the nostalgic feel. "Quiet runs the rivers flow" seems to capture the quality of this long relationship. Rest awhile, sentimental, and tender tell the rest of a sweet love story.

Sentimental, a perfect word to summarise this poem. A feel good entry for the competition.
Your illustration complements your words. Overall, an enjoyable read.

I sweet poem that would fit well on a birthday card or anniversary or any occasion for that matter. I am thinking that this writer is on the younger side of the calendar. At least under 65 years old. HA

Thanks for your review. The writer is a young 69, remembering days by the river when I could sit comfortably on a rug and get up again without my knees giving out!

I hear that. Good for you!

This is a good entry for the ABC poem contest.
The content is solid as is the rhyme that relays a message of first meeting, love and a life together that followed. A poem that reminisces in sweet memories. Well done and best of luck in the competition.

Thanks for your nice review. I am feeling troubled because of flooding currently causing so much damage here in New Zealand, so writing a calm poem has soothed my anxiety to a small degree. Luckily I live in the South Island and have not been personally affected.

Ah, that would explain the soothing river and its beautiful surrounds to help capture sweet memories to mind. The South Island is one of God?s blessings.
Sit and write on what you see happening around you. I did with the floods in Australia last year. My mind was in full flow like the river :-)

Writing is a good way to free our emotions.

I agree :-)
