Ciao !
In that situation it should be the sibling supporting the dying father.
Obvious , Janet was not coping and her father ended up finding a way to make the moment less painfully, stressful for all.
A role in a play I imagine Janet performed .. it's obvious that over the year that recalled scene had produced countless bouts laughter.
It was very comical despite she died like that and it made the whole scene between father and daughter less oppressive even for the reader.
For once I came away without crying.

funny. That scene Janet went through was a repeat from a family gathering to celebrate my folk`s 50th. There is a story behind the words she utters. It was quite hilarious. Something my dad had used with us kids to make us laugh. It was an appropriate spot in this sequence of scenes.

I laughed when the father asked for a fudge-sickle. A moment of levity in a serious situation.
Question- I may have missed this, but how is it known the father has three days left?
The pizza scene also lent credibility to the storyline.
Well done.

Good question. The Hospice nurse has indicated as much and of course it`s my means to set the stage. As a family, we aren`t sure it will be three days, it could be 2 or 4 but his declining condition indicates it won`t be much longer than 4 days. Thank you very much for reading. Next release will be on the 8th with the final on the 17th. 4 more scenes.

A moving scene as a large family says farewell to their dying father. The scene also has some amusing moments which offer some comic relief.
The format is clear and well set out.
