Awww.... that is the best Valentine's Day ever! Jokes and a poem and putting you first--what a lovely and thoughtful person. And doing the dishes! He's a keeper for sure. Thanks for sharing your heart-warming poem.

Faith, thank you so much for your kind review and comments. He is a good boy and I am so blessed to have him. I am so thankful to have six of them with each their own talents. My granddaughter does much of my art for me and did a few of my most recent ones. Thanks again, sweet friend for your lovely comments.

What a sweet, sweet Valentine's poem with such a beautiful expression of love from a child. Your Grandson sounds super thoughtful and kind. Hmmm I wonder where he gets that from???? Wonderful in its rhythm and rhyme as always you never skip a beat! I wondered whether you meant "packed" up the whole house instead of "picked" but perhaps I'm not familiar with the expression. Love it Debi!

Oh Karyn, you are so sweet. Thank you for such kind words. Out here, at least in Minnesota, when there is stuff laying around the house, like it was from him and I playing games, etc... we say picking up the house. And as much as I never thought it about it before because we have always used it, it does sound kinda corny doesn't it? Y'know, I am going to be writing something one of these days, based on how different we talk. I have friends here from the east, south, north and west. Me, Minnesota, Jan, Texas, Margaret and Karenina, New Jesrsey and Pennsylvania and Helen, Washington State. And if you wouldn't mind being a part of it, I would love your take on it. I will be sending a little survey with questions like, lets say what we just talked about, what do you call it when you pick things up in the house if you have a mess. Not cleaning, just putting things away?? It would be fun to see what everyone's answers are based on their location. Another question will be, what do you say if you have to do something. Well in MN we would say, run a quick errand. In Texas they say, they are fixin to do it. I plan on making a humor prose or poem out of it. So what do you think? Would you join us? Your name would be in the piece. And lol, just so you know, if we pack things up, we are probably going camping..... thanks sweetheart for the lovely review and kind comments about my goobs.

Debi what a fun Idea!! You know us Aussies have some very strange phrases... well they sound fine to us! I might say "come on kids! Put on your thongs, I have to duck up to the shops" but I think that would seem strange to you!!!! Lol. I'd love to be part of it.

That is a great Valentine's story, Debi. How old is Goober? I hope he is at an age where he will be around awhile, so he can help you. Hope you are recovering nicely.

Dearest Paul, your words mean so much to me. Thank you for them!
I am proud to admit that things were tough. It's not the special clothes and things that we were able to afford later on, that brings the kids to tears when they thank me. It's those memories of the special Halloween costumes and the many clothes and homemade gifts they saw me put the time into. They thank me for memories, not things. They appreciate the love and strict mothering, instead of wishing I had given in. Some of God's greatest gifts are the ones He made us work the hardest for. Because of that, I have had such a blessed life. And I really think is part of why He rewarded me by bringing me here to find the loveliest friends like you. More blessings upon blessings, and I am so thankful for you my friend!

Memories are the best. They are always there when you need them. I'll bet there is a poem there.

You could leave this world a more wealthy woman if you could clone that grandchild. Wow. A pat on the back is in order, or more depending of his age. You are blessed.

Tom, you are so kind. I truly would like to: clone him, but fear I'd be selfish and keep every one of them for myself. Thanks again, my dear friend. Ï,

You are never too old to be delighted by a Valentine's card, specially from a 'charming' grandson! I like the idea of giving a Valentine in the form of doing the washing up! This is definitely to be encouraged!

Hi Debi,
It is unusual for a preteen boy to be so thoughtful. He showed is love for you in both his words and his actions. This would be a good Mother's Day gift for his mother.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Joan

What a precious child. We all need someone like Carter in our lives. Not only did you give you one delightful surprise, but he kept it up all day long. He's a keeper.

What a sweet and thoughtful boy. If this is him at twelve, can you imagine what a fine man he will become?
I love the poem, both yours in introducing Carter and his talented poem.
Thank you for beginning my day in a very bright spot.
Best wishes,
Mary

Hi Mary, I thank you for the best start to my day too. Thank you for such a kind review and comments in return. I didn't get it done until just a little bit ago, but I added the song by Whitney Houston, "The Greatest Love of All".
I love kids so much that I can't even hear that song without crying.
Thank you Sweet friend for such thoughtful words for my dear Carter, aka goobs.

What a great thoughtful, loving kid. I love twelve year olds. That's the age I taught for about thirteen years. They are like grown-ups in tiny clothes. They have the same skills they learned from their loving adults. It becomes a compliment to you.
