This is a very good piece of work.

Really enjoyed it.

I can't articulate how, but something about it really spoke out, definitely triggered something.

Keep it up.

Your poem is a good example of how jealousy can control the mind if you let it. I think we need to seek God when this happens. Remember, He say's, I am a jealous God, who wants us to follow Him only.

Nice poem entry for the One Word: Jealousy writing prompt contest.

The rhymes and meter didn't seem forced but not consistent.

the structure makes sense, it draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

Thank you. Rhyming is always problematic for me. Not my strong suit.

I adore this one. Your words hold such truth and significance. I was impressed by the symbolism of the fish and what it represents- an outstanding submission for this contest!

Wordplay is one of my favorite examples of literary techniques. Also your metaphors will draw the reader in. This could be about relationships where one is surprised what the results of their search is. And maybe one of the couple is too jealous or possessive. Well done.

I didn't get the feeling of jealousy from your story here as this seemed like a mild mannered write with a mutual understanding theme to it, but maybe others will see something different, love Dolly x

Thank you for the review. The angst of jealousy can cause anger and poor actions. This isn?t about fishing, it?s about ripping the heart out of a loved one due to anger caused by jealousy.

Big ones caught bring out the jealousy in folks cause every one wants the big one to win the fishing contest.
To later clean and fry those babies for supper with grits and hush puppies and coleslaw and beans, mighty good vittles for sure!

Thanks for the review. The story is really about a torn love and not so much about the fish. But I really appreciate the stars. Thanks again.

I think you have a wonderful poem. It is very creative. It flows and reads exceptionally well. I like to read poems out loud, and this one sounds great.

I have read it a few times, and it is hard for me to grasp the jealousy. I see what you are trying to do. I think the jealousy angle should be a little stronger, but I don't know what to suggest, as I am afraid any suggestions on my part would mess up the poem.

It's just one old guy's opinion. Good luck in the contest. Terry.

Good point Terry. It`s a flash of jealously of his friend`s catch and then the total disregard of what he has in pursuit of something better. His jealousy ruined a life. Thank you for your kind review.
