"Let there be spaces in your togetherness, and let the winds of the heavens dance between you."
God grants moments joyfully spent with others, and also moments of solitude when we come to a deeper understanding.

Another fine poem, Gypsy----and being in love is both the best of times and the worst of times when things head south. But when it's working, there's nothing like it

We make those special connections in life and hope it lasts a lifetime and we never stop wanting love until the day we die, we all need the nurturing of another caring soul, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I was really getting into the romantic aspect of the poem and then you threw in the twist. What an effective way to make an impact. Excellent ending to show that life has an even higher/better purpose.
Thank you for the author notes. I've always like that quite from Kahill Gabran.

This is a beautiful poem as well as a beautiful presentation, the photographs and the colored font all add this beautiful message. Yes, we must go on when we lose a loved one. God's not finished with us yet.

"Blending Souls" was beautifully written rich in Theme and Imagery.
"If you love somebody like a butterfly let them go"
"And if it was meant to be they will fly back to you one day!"
Thanks Doctor Ricky

This is beautifully written and presented. It also is a tough read for me today as tomorrow I will be attending my brother's wife's funeral. His anchor died suddenly and I fear for him to be able to go on. You never saw one without the other. She made a good life for him.
I cry more for him than her.
Somehow, I must convey to him, the last stanza of your Tanka.
Best wishes
Mary

Gypsy Rose, this is a wonderful poem about letting our loved ones go when they are no longer with us. I lost my husband almost 28 years ago. I did let go rather quickly, but he is bright. Smile I can still see. I miss him terribly, but I know that he is in a better place and that one day I will be there with him as well. Have a good day. May God bless you. Patricia

I'm glad it brought good memories. For me it was my ex-husband. It has been 16 years and it still hurts. I don't think about him all the time, like I used to, but from time to time I hear a song that brings up emotions. That's how the heart is.
Thank you very much, Patricia. I appreciate your kind review and helpfull feedback.

dare I must ask if life might be better than being (line 1) and what are curbs?? when I thought it was curves. The context is quite vivid, and of course the artwork superb.

Part of the tanka rules is trying to not repeat words, in such short poem it's distracting. So I didn't want to repeat 'life'.. the curbs are a symbol of women's breast and hips. Straight lines are men's straight chest and hips.
Tanka is supposed to be passionate and poetic bringing up emotions and visual imagery. Tanka is not for everybody. You can't take it literally with a pragmatic mind.
Thank you for the detailed review and 5 stars.
