Gotta love the sound of that word that makes for your title. Like the slow frog in your poem it's onomatopoetic sound is what a passerby might hear when the truck's tire smashes that 'beast'.

I clicked on this because of the title combined with the picture--frogs (and toads) are my favorite animal. Poor little guy really never had a chance! You words are concise and provide the right amount of visual. It's also funny! Great work.

This surely says it in just 25 words. Kersplat says the word when a toad gets run over by a truck very well. This is easy to understand and speaks the words that others say when it happens to a toad or other animal which is small. I only hope the toad doesn't feel the pain when it dies.
Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.
Jesse

Hi,
This cute monorhyme poem give a clear and quick image of what can happen to a toad, or any small animal, that tries to cross a busy road. Anywhere in size from the toad to a deer. Although it does seem squirrels are hit less often then most.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Poor toad to end his life in such a violent manner, but it happens. This is a great 25-word poem with good rhyming, good flow, sad ending... Good luck in the contest.

This is a very well written 25 word poem you penned for the writing prompt contest. You used very good and descriptive words with very good imagery from the art work you chose. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Very clever but not very nice for your protagonist! A clear and concise message that adeptly uses your meager 25 to their fullest! Great sympathetic image! Good luck to ya!

This a well-written poem about a toad. "Why did the toad cross the road?" Well, this one didn't. It was sad for the toad but the inspiration for the poet. The poet has a good entry for the limited word contest. Excellent writing. Terry.

The message in the poem is something everyone can easily relate. We see this happen daily on our roads. It made an easy and smooth read. The presentation and the rhymes in my view were masterly done though I still remain a student here. Consider checking the word count. Seems more than the 25 words stated in the contest rules. Well done, and good luck in the contest.
