Your title drew me in, and then the picture added suspense, until the end which I felt was coming when he ran on the road.

P.S. I, too, used twenty five words above. !!!!

saw this in the contest. Funny. Not sure the frog implodes as much as it would explode, but none-the-less, not much left after the hit and run. So much for leap-frogging the accident.

The photo is excellent and shows a healthy-looking toad. The word count is met, and the rhyming is there; however, I feel bad for this toad's demise. I know this is just a poem, but it shows how much weight our word choices can have on readers.
Thanks for writing.

Leather, perhaps in another realm The Truck did explode, so the toad did not implode. 🙃🙃

I can't help thinking about the joke: why do chicken cross the road? You are presenting one "why do toads cross the road?" But this is a sad story. In order to get the rhyming right, you had to sacrifice a toad.

Well done.

Poor little toad, JLR. You did a great job
describing its end. I liked the rhymes and
smooth flow. The picture was appropriate, too.
I wish they would stay off the roads., Jan

That was unfortunate! At least it was quick...I suppose. Great and creative way to use the prompt. I would say I enjoyed it but that might be a little dill-holey from the toads perspective at least!

Oh, no, poor little toad,

Wonderful entry for the 25 Words writing prompt contest.

Good word count. I love the imagery and presentation.

Good luck in the contest.

And despite the horror of your poem, I laughed. It was so formal and yet the title was fun. I liked the innocence of it , but there was a seriousness to it. Great poem. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

A tragic tale of a toad. In some places, I have heard of a bridge been built across a road especially for toads - at least, I think it was toads. This might be a good idea.
