This is an excellent entry for the writing prompt. It made me smile. It does get harder to get up and down and sitting is the best solution. As long as we have the conversation, I'm sure God doesn't mind.
Best of luck.

Thanks again, Debi. You are so right about this. God's pretty old, so He probably knows how it feels.

Much enjoyed, Mystery Writer, and totally relatable.
But just between you and me, God doesn't care how or where we pray.
I just think He likes to know we think of Him in our daily lives. For me, it's when I am gardening ... or driving down our country roads...

Best Wishes!

Thanks, Diane. "Country roads, take me home to the place I belong."

I smiled at this one because I know exactly what you mean. Thankfully, our Heavenly Father hears us anytime, anywhere, any place and from any position. (Smile)
Thank you for sharing the delightful 25 word poem.

Blessings

Thanks, Janet. There are probably a few positions that He would frown upon. (Smile)

So, to me your poem is both serious and comical. Prayer to this individual is important and he/she will do whatever to continue it.

Best of luck in the contest.

Thanks for the review, John. The serious part is the prayer. The comical part is trying to get up after kneeling.

This piece expresses regret beautifully. It's a realistic situation that many can relate to. Is there some wry humour in there too?

However, I do feel that true prayer comes from the heart and the soul, and is received by God regardless of the body's position.

Thanks, Sherry. It's amazing how almost everybody has responded in the very same way. I guess that most of the people on FanStory are senior citizens.

Haha! I?m not a senior citizen yet - though I do hope I?ll get there :) My parents are though and so I?m familiar with many age-related issues having lived with them.

Whatever position allows us to focus our attention on our talk with the Lord works. He's more interested in the conversation. This is a great little poem. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks, Ginda. It seems that I do most of the talking in that conversation, but He's a good listener.

So true that our bodies change but God listens to our prayers not because of our position in our physical bodies but in the attitude of our hearts. Best wishes in the contest!

Thanks, Helen. My heart is not so good physically, but it is kind and thoughtful.

Your kind of heart is pleasing to God!

Too well do I understand your poem! Who thought years ago that kneeling would be difficult because once you kneel, you have to get back up! I'm thankful for being able to talk to god at any time in any position. Your poem said it well. I hope it wins in the contest.

Thanks, Verna. You are right about being in any position. He would probably prefer kneeling, but I'm sure that He understands.

Arthritics pains has remained one of the biggest challenges that come mainly with age needing lasting solutions. Your prayers will surely be answered as God's mirror only focuses on human heart and not praying position. Well penned. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Thanks for the review. I could probably pray for Him to cure my arthritis, but there are more important things to pray for.

Very nice 25-word poem. It rhymes well, the meter is good, and it's mildly humorous because it's so true for many of us of advanced years.

One small point: Since the first part is in the past (I'd get down...), you should probably say either "I'd go to bed" or "I went to bed" instead of "I go to bed" to keep that clause in the past too.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jim. You are one of many who have mentioned old age.
