This work has reached the exceptional level

I live in a "girl's world" with daughters and granddaughters, so I have never had to attend a baseball game ever. However, this is so well written that you put me right there. I love the clear conversational tone of your story because it makes it feel authentic in spirit and age/gender appropriate. A solid, good story.

Sounds like baseball was a toughie when the ball was thrown too hard or hit places which hurt bad. I like your story. It hit home. There was a punch line and that's good.

Sports fiction. Then you must know that right field is where they put the 'left-outs'

I thought for sure this was going to be a true accounting. Nice story. A league of its own. Are you 68.

Yes, I?m 68. Any reason you ask?
I understand what you?re saying about right field. I found that younger kids swing a little slower which caused them to hit to the opposite field, right field. So I always kept a better fielder there.
    Thanks for reading and sharing.

Good point on bat speed. No on the 68. Just thought 1954 was a birth year.

Correct, 1954 is my birth year.

Nicely written. Good work.
quote on quote, - quote-unquote ("-")
I'm sent out to left field, - my entire life it's been 'right' field where you send the worst players because since most batter are right-handed, they tend to his to the left field.
Best wishes.

I'm well into your stories on my last few sessions on FS. Your stories are delightful to read. This story included. I saw the rivalry and the love for siblings.

Funny story, John, which I enjoyed very much. I loved your description of your approach to the left-fielder position. Hysterical! I also liked your mom's reason for forcing you to play baseball.

I love your baseball stories. Jim

I enjoyed your story. Both of my sons placed baseball. We had some interesting times with players and parents. Thanks for sharing this story. Sarah

Fantastic narrative. I really get a feel for the two, "Irish twins", your descriptive abilities are astounding and bring characters to life, particularly the narrator. A great story.

Lol. I enjoyed your story. I hadn't heard of "Irish twins". In that case my husband and his sister are that, as she was just nearly eleven months older. An engaging story. Well done.

This reads like it's autobiographical though I see it's "Sports Fiction." I like that it is a heartwarming connection between two very different brothers who look out for one another.
