I'm so sorry for your loss. Dementia is a horrible disease that robs not only the person who has the disease but also those loved ones who are also care givers.
Excellent seven word poem.
Blessings

In only seven words, you capture the pain and sadness of dementia. My grandmother who had a very sharp mind, suddenly was lost to us. She
did not know us and she kept wanting to find her long dead baby.
So well done. Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes

My oldest sister had lewey body dementia at age 85. My husband was diagnosed with another kind of dementia at age 73. Both have passed away. Like you, I watched their personalities change.
For me I would use the word 'stole' instead of 'robbed'. Good luck in the contest.

The image and short seven word poem captures so much emotion! The heartache is felt, the cruelty of Dementia is felt, the absence is felt, the grief is real and the love is evident. Your 7 words are so emotive and powerful and convey deep personal loss. Thank you for sharing this as it would resonate with so many. Thank you for sharing your journey and I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom and the pain the disease caused.

Hi Jacquelyn,
Yes, dementia steels a person from his/her family and his/herself. It is so hard for all involved.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest.

Dementia is indeed one of the most hideous and cruel thieves out there. While you were being robbed of your Mom, he was busy robbing me of my Dad. Your brief poem is a strong piece of writing.

You have described dementia very well. I watched my mom go through the same thing. My mom was rarely negative. She just went along with me and my sister-in-law who were her major caretakers. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

I think that is by far the worst illness to have. To watch a loved one disappear into someone you don't recognise anymore, and for the sufferer to lose all knowledge of who her family are. There can be nothing worse than that. You did a great job with those 7 words, well done. Good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xxx

In just few words, your work is able to convey the havoc and misery that dementia brings to humanity. I hope some day, a real cure for dementia will be discovered to ease the pains of men. Consider cross-checking the word count against the contest rules. Well done, and thanks for sharing your thoughts, dear Jacquelyn.
