Happy Birthday, America is a wonderful song to listen, too. I love America and I am sure you do, too. (Do you live in the states?) Democracy is so important in our country.

Yes, Texas. I fear for our democracy.

This is a good entry in the "Seven Words or Less" poetry contest. The text is a great size. I like it centered because that position makes it more prominent. The message is clearly stated and easy to understand. We can only hope our nation survives this difficult spot in history. We have survived other dark periods.
The visual fits okay. It would be better if it were a visual without words which compete with your message. Good luck in the contest.

yes, I agree, but I tried the statue of liberty in tears, but couldn't get it small enough even though I minimized it. I was so frustrated I just. minimized the words. thanks for reading and for your good wishes.

Sometimes they have on the internet the exact photo smaller. Just type in your search engine "Free small images of the Statue of Liberty crying".
You are welcome.

thank you

Thanks. Melissa! I do hope, however, that it captures more that the imagination. I hope people will rise up against those who are destroying us - I hope they'll educate their children so that they don't follow in the footsteps of those determined to endoctrinate them, etc.
Thanks for your good wishes.

Your concerns are very real here as America has lost its way without a strong President at the helm, I sincerely hope the post is filled with someone to direct the nation, a poignant write, love Dolly x

Thanks, Dolly, I hope so, too.
As he has two more years which I doubt he will make, and the VP is a laughing hyena, and the whole administration corrupt, it doesn't look good. But hopefully the people will wake up at some point and take our country back.

It gives thought to how the termites are working on the statue of Liberty. They are in the woodwork knowing away at the cornerstone. Good post. Thanks for sharing.

well, I didn't know there was any wood in the Statue of Liberty that could be gnawed, but there are definitely American citizens who are eroding this country from within. Thanks for reading and for your comments.

Matter of an explanation. No wood.

no wood. good :)

This is an excellent poem for the contest with seven syllables.
We've gone through worse and come out stronger,
this too will build strength.
Best wishes in the contest.

Robert, thank you so much! Yes, we have gone through a lot, and come out stronger, granted, and I hope you are right, but this is corrosion from within, (our own people) -- with the help and financial aid from the WEF. And the Bill Gates, Fauci's and Soros's of the world congratulate themselves while polishing their gold crowns.
However, I have to hope.

I think democracy is always in peril when there is no mutual focus, if the national motto is "in God we trust" has been outlawed, democracy loses its uniting factor, and the diverse opinions will divide, the enemy of all cohesive unity, well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

Roy, I agree, and I've been wondering something, and may even write about it. I think that there could be a very powerful and influential group - bipartisan - that could unite a lot of people, including most in Congress, if they'd speak out and stand together against Socialism, and I mean a united group of clergy. I don't think it would infringe on "the separation of church and state" as socialism is of vital interest to both, and their position against it would reach a lot of people who I don't think have a clue that that is what's going on in this country. What do you think?
-
Socialism is humanism really. And therefore pretensive. It will inevitably develop into something much worse, but on the other hand godless republicanism can lead more swiftly to fragmentation, and severity of law. I?ve seen lots of theories, but erratic humanity and self interest are a stumbling block difficult to overcome. How does one buy goodness of intent? Only one way I know of. But bless you.
-
godless Republicanism? wow, Roy.
I admit that the elites have ruined the party and I don't support them, finacially, but to be able to vote in the primaries, you can't be an Independent, so I'm between a rock and a hard place.
-
That?s sad about the independents

This is a scary thought, and you expressed that thought well in just seven words. Thank you so much for sharing this in poem form, and best wishes to you.

It is, indeed scary. I didn't know how to put the song on here, but it's quite a song. (in author's notes)
