Winter wanes

I really enjoyed the first two lines. They read well, "...pale February sunlight",
However the last line using the term flits seemed out of kilter with the wording of the first two lines. Perhaps another word instead of flits or even a different last 3 words, I find freedom, I lack loneliness...etc. It just seemed to lack impact for me.

I did see a fly in my house today - wish it was a butterfly instead! It must be very confused, as the temps were hovering around 50 degrees the past couple of weeks and tonight we are at 7 degrees below zero! I wish winter was waning... I love your optimism.

Love this review Zanya

Right now, as I read this, the temperature here in Upstate NY is -5 degrees (with the wind chill, it's -15) So this picture of the beautiful butterfly somewhere in "a pale February light" was most hearteneing! Thank you for brightening my day, and good luck in the contest!

A very beautiful image of a colourful butterfly in seemingly inhospitable conditions. This certainly has impact. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

Butterflies are marvelous to look at. Their wings look so fragile. Butterflies are attracted to light, If a butterfly flits after you, it may be a sign that your inner light is shining. A white butterfly may also be following you because you are unaware of an important change in your life. Like your poem.

I love the simplicity of this and yet it speaks volumes about the last days of winter and the beginning of new life. Your picture is perfect for this poem.

This is a good entry in the "Seven Words or Less" poetry contest. The text is a good size. The message is clearly stated and easily understood. I also like your alliteration title with the "w".
The visual fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.

I see lots of butterflies in February and this is because I sometimes live in a different climate, but I have rarely seen a butterfly in February in England. This butterfly looks like it has found a home indoors, a magical write, love Dolly x
