I'm just peeping into your portfolio, Mike. I was looking for a series of stories you wrote a few years ago, but for the life of me, I can't remember what they were called. Only that it was about someone who helped the needy. They were really good. Do you know which ones I'm thinking of.
Any way, I found this one and had to laugh! There is something a little wacky about us, for sure! I enjoyed this story, and was amazed to see my name there. Thank you!
Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I enjoyed your approach to finishing your novel. You
did a great job, Mike, with all of the aspects you mentioned.
What a clever idea to have your characters visit you. I
liked the interaction between you and them.
Best wishes in your publishing endeavors, Jan

Fantastic. I can certainly relate. Fifty thousand words into a novel and I have not managed an introduction, beginning nor end yet. A great read.
Vivid imagery and description of a writer's frustration. Best of luck in publishing your work.

Hi there,
Nice little piece here. A good tribute also to fellow writers on site. It is certainly quite an achievement completing an entire book and not to be sneezed at.
The submission process can be a real git as well, especially if one doesn't handle rejection that good! lol
Writing, one of the only professions where having multiple personalities in your head is an advantage.
crazy breed.
All the best

This story, The End, has a lot of those committed times where research and diligence were needed to take ideas, a plot, characters, and the finished story to a publisher. Whew!

There is a lot work that goes into a novel but in spite of the hardships the author has don't what he enjoys. It is like but the 5000 piece puzzle together but he has created something unique and learned to love each of his characters. He won't rest long. The characters are calling. He needs to write a sequel.

It must be very satisfying to write a novel, I have only ever published poetry books. To find a good story and organise the characters and make it interesting must take months to organise, you touched on the journey here Mike and I enjoyed your flash fiction as a tribute to these talented writers, love Dolly x

What a wonderful essay, Kimbob. I know the effort writers put into their work. They live with their characters and fall in love with them, hoping the people who read their work can do the same. The work is our baby and we want it to thrive. I love how you describe the blood sweat and tears put into writing be it poetry or prose it is there. Congratulations on your finished product and good luck. Nancy:)

I think it's an interesting piece that articulates the relationship of writers to their characters. Something we don't always dwell on, but it is there. After all, these characters are our creations, for good or ill, heroes and villains alike. I think it is true that we fall in love with them to an extent. And we have the desire to bring them back to life in sequels. I thought you told this with plenty of personality and sense of humor which really brightened it up and made it so much more relaxed and approachable. estory

This is well-written. Thankfully, I have never wanted to write a novel. But the good thing is that you have provided the blueprint on how to do it. Excellent writing. Terry.
