A sugar=sweet poem about the difference between flowers that wilt in the snow and babies that grow and grow. I wish they didn't yell, poop or throw-up. Life would more perfect if god gave them a voice when they became a teenager!

Awe. So true. Starting like little seeds babies grow and push on until they leave the womb. I have never understood how people cannot see a child as anything but a gift from God. Like a spectacular bloom, you can't help but fall in love. Great comparison. Lovely poem. Gretchen

Hi Gretchen! One of the sermons we listened to this morning was about abortions and I cringe every time I think that there are people in our country who believe it is ok to kill babies. I may have to write another poem about that soon as I feel so strongly about it. Thank you my sweet friend for such lovely words and thoughts. You are such a true friend.

Lovely words here. So much beautiful truth. Our children needs all the love and nurturing to grow and flourish especially in their faith. And snow is a given... we love snow!!

Thanks so much Sweetheart for such kind words for my poem. I do love both, of course mostly children. Lol! However when we get snow, it isn't always so lovely, but the kids love it. This year twice we have had twenty plus inches dropped on us and what a mess to clear it. Thanks again my dear friend.

"A Child and a flower are gifts from God we know
Thankful for our children who are with us as they grow"
I like your poem and the picture you have chosen. Children certainly are precious gifts from God.

Where ever did you find that adorable, precious picture? It fit your poem perfectly. This poem flowed so smoothly, I could almost sing it. Only a poet would see the similarities of a child and flowers. Your comparisons are stunning. I enjoyed reading this poem.

A clever comparison and nicely written and presented.
Each verse is imbued with thoughtful contemplation and comparison,
Love is the difference between a child and a flower for we nourish the mind, body and soul of our children for as long as we are able.
Blessings
Shirley

Love your encouragement to love and nurture our children just like flowers need our tender loving care. I especially liked "Stay true to your faith in God in every single stage."

This is a lovely comparison of children and flowers. The art you chose is great for the topic and tone of the poem. It's a light poem with some deeper wisdom. The rhyme is steady. The rhythm is largely consistent, and the lines that vary feel playful instead of like a lack of care. The compare and contrast structure works well.

An excellent with regards to our children and how they are with from before they are born until we are separated.

I feel you can also factor in grandchildren in many of your thoughts.

Very well done, my friend.
