Hi leather,
I enjoyed your Haiku poem, as well as the artwork. Congratulations on Post #50, too!
Because the trees have no leaves, and snow has been glued to the trunks and bare waving limbs, you've described them as ghostly visions. Nice personification, really.
Good Luck in the contest!
Cheers,
Kimbob

This haiku is full of alliteration and consonance. It also has the kigo of the winter season. The satori line can be read in more than one way. The ghostly vision belongs to the poet or there is a mine of visions.
Best wishes in the contest!

It's been so many years, but I still remember the crystal-coated trees in my backyard. It was just as lovely as you describe. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you. Congratulations on your milestone post!

Thank you for your review and comments. Since I live in Georgia, I seldom see snow or ice. However, we did get an ice storm years ago, and it was just a spectacular sight.
Thanks also for congratulating me on the milestone post.
Have a great and productive day.

Congratulations on your milestone post! A lovely poem for it, too. Love the image of snow-covered trees with glinting crystals. A ghostly vision indeed. Your accompanying picture is amazing as well. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes in the contest.

Your poem and picture combination gives me a chill, and I'm not really sure if it's because it looks cold, or a little eerie. LOL. But I like it either way. Thanks for sharing.

I see you are a rebel of sorts. Haiku can take any form, I guess but usually reads 5-7-5 syllables. This one was 5-5-5. Inventive. Accurate. The photo was interesting. Good luck and congrats on reaching your first milestone.

Did I really put five syllables in the middle line? Whoops! Thanks for pointing that out. Now I know I don't have the crystal vision. LOL

Yes the trees can look much like ghosts when they are covered in frost in moonlight, I enjoyed the metaphor here and congrats on your 50th post, love Dolly x

I loved the last line of this haiku, it was perfect. I felt the earlier part could have been improved slightly because of the sense of redundancy between 'encrusted' and 'coated with'. kay

This wasn't what I expected to read from the title Crystal Vision. But it does make a good haiku. Very nice job. Good luck in the contest. Stay safe and stay healthy in the new year.

Fantastic milestone post. The poem speaks volumes and creates evocative imagery of a Winter's day in a forest. I feel cold just reading it. Real impact. Great work.
