I loved this chapter Sally. So much is going on and it has a lot of intrigue and twists. Now I'm looking forward to see where you're taking this.
I will be posting this Sunday. I'm in a lull at the moment. I just want to end the Fisherman and get started on my new story. A big hug, Ulla xxx

Hi Sally,
I was surprised that FEE would allow Candace to not only leave the mansion, but with the baby in tow as well. It seems that Gaston is going to be safe, for the time being. She has no intention of giving him the poison. She only wants protection. FEE will be sorely angry when he finds out he's been double-crossed. He loves Candace. But can he get her back? I can't wait to find out what Candace's parents, Dan and Maggie Van Velzen, will do when they find out their daughter is alive. Not only alive, but with a child... their grandchild! Tommy & Willa and Hank are going to have to guard Candace and her baby from FEE now. He'll want her back.
Terrific chapter, Sally! Now we know who the bad guy is.

Hugs,
Kimbob

Good chapter! Lots of interesting things happening here, and more characters surfacing. I'm glad you included the list & descriptions; it helps me remember who's who. There's hope for Candace and others who have been abducted. Have a blessed day.

Another good read Sally with a good build up of drama and tension before Candace
finally gets to freedom to hand over the journal. A good place to end this chapter. Looking forward to see what happens next. Cheers

This was, once again, an excellent read. Plenty of twists and turns and drama. Just one suggested change."If you insist. Far be it f(o)r[om] me to separate a baby from his mother."

Thank a for the lovely review and kindest stars! Both mean so much.

The standard expression is "far be it from me" (may this possibility be far away from me), is what I used here. Far be it from me to seperate a baby from his mother. My parents used this expression all the time, whether it was sincere or not. I thought I'd drop it in here for fun. Thank you, again, dear Geoff.

We are at a low point in novel posts and overall reviews this month. Being a novelist is the hardest category on here and takes time, focus and lots of money to pump. I think you understand that more than most.

Sandra's out. Ulla is posting every other week at the moment. Begin Again has hit pause. I'm hanging in there with Barbara and Jim though and appreciate your kind attention. Thank you for being my novel fan. You're the best!

Sending you both my very best,

This may change things a bit: ""It's not what you think, Hank. Tommy and I were...." I like this sensory imagery carried by a metaphor. "I can't imagine having any other partner than Willa Sams." I said. This makes for good team work. Why do I not trust this statement: "If you insist. Far be it from me to separate a baby from his mother." I love the drama: "The final act of kissing her captor was the hardest thing she'd ever done; but she did it, and to her credit, it was cinematic." As usual, a great ending.

I'm surprised Fee let the baby go. I would have expected him to keep him as insurance. Why would he trust her? And I can't imagine Candace actually intends to kill anyone. That syringe should make some good evidence.

So a woman was kidnapped by a demon and has a two week old baby. So is Fee, the father of her baby? Another great chapter to read. I'm ready for the next chapter. I want to see what happens next. Have a good evening. Shirley

Thank you for the wonderful review and kind stars. No, the only demons are DeeCayed and Nix, although the men in Candace's life at the moment are definitely evil. Stay tuned! Sending you my best today as always,

We learn a lot in this fascinating new chapter.

In Section One, Captain Hank Riley reveals to Tommy that Willa Sams is his (Hank's) half-sister and asks whether Tommy would be comfortable with Willa as his permanent partner; and Tommy gladly agrees. Tommy tells him that after Gaston lapsed into a coma during the night, County Coroner Dr. Stuart showed up to swab his bloody clothes for DNA. Then Hank says that he has sworn Dr. Stuart in as a case researcher, and Betty Jo Jenkins (owner of the barn) as a detective. Clearly, Hank is strengthening the Aspen Grove PD to solve the case and prevent further kidnappings and murders.

In Sections Two through Five, we learn that Candace Van Velzen, thought to be dead, is actually captive to Gaston, whom Fitzgerald Edward Elling (Fee), wants to eliminate in order to have Candace to himself. Candace accepts the task, as she sees that as an opportunity to escape both.

In Section Six, the driver of the taxi taking Candace and her two-week-old baby to the hospital to poison Gaston while in a coma, turns out to be following instructions from Angel Patience.

In Section Seven, Tommy notices Candace in the ER lobby and realizes that she is desperate for help. Once Willa arrives, he guides them to the nearby chapel, where Willa lulls the baby back to sleep while Candace asks Tommy for help. Thus, it seems the tide is about to turn against the Evil that until now had Aspen Grove in its grasp.

Superb, and aptly illustrated (presumably Candace).

You are most welcome, Sal. Your story-telling skill is impressive in this spiritually enhanced murder mystery plus love story narrated by a man who found himself at the center of the Good versus Evil action. You make this unique story easy to accept by showing the plausible characters of the spirits involved, and please readers with such heartwarming aspects as Candace's being alive and now able to escape her years of captivity while her parents still await her return.

We live in a world of advancing Evil, so stories of steadfast faith and hope rewarded are supportive to us all, aiding our resolve to persevere. In that respect, this story is important to read in this difficult time.

Bless you for writing this now. :))))) -- Mike
