The only thing I didn't like about this poem was the picture you chose to accompany it. I get it that is went with your words. Your poem rhymed and made sense. Very nice job.

Hi Bill,
What a great succession of ponderings! Can I tell you mine?
Your poem reminds me of that song by Julie Andrews, "My Favorite Things"...

Your milk-bottle tulip reminds me of what a cold winter morning did to the Milkman's delivery when we woke up. The cream would freeze and jump out of the top of the bottle, cover still perched on the very top.
I especially liked the alliteration of "dozing dachshund" and the rhyme of "cups/pups".
Nicely penned!
Cheers,
Kimbob

Delightful. I don't know what a tulip in a milk bottle would make me think of. Duh, how much I paid for milk? You've brought in some unlikely pairings. Comedians in the Catskills is strange, but the alliteration is nice. I like the dozing dachshund pups. Clever use of rhyme. judi

Thanks, Judi. Some allusions are totally unconnectable to readers.

I guess if I was required to ponder a milk bottle tulip my mind might wander in every other direction as well. I didn't know what a milk bottle tulip was and I put it in the google search engine. Then I put the pondering in front of it and darn if you name didn't come up. How did you get to be so famous, or are you the only person who ever pondered one?

Actually, if someone uttered the phrase, "pondering a milk bottle tulip", they must send me a check. : )

That must be a real flower. How do you get those thoughts pondering a tulip? Must be writer's genius. Nice work on the Dove 'tale'
Tough to keep up with.

Day-dreaming is a wonderful, joyful activity. You clearly show your appreciation of having the time to enable moments of pondering. A thought provoking piece of writing.

Art is certainly subjective. lol
Cows and windmills? Dozing dachshund pups?
Definitely subjective.
Remind me to find you sometime and take in an art museum, something tells me it would be worth the trip! ;)
Okay, Bill...
Always loving your things,
Susan :)

Hmm. This poem gives us a contemplative view of something as simple as a tulip in a milk bottle which then flowers into a random association of memories. Nice!

Ahh, tulips in a milk carton. This is beautifully done, Bill. I vaguely remember seeing this done somewhere in a relative's home. (Where) has escaped me, but I remember because I thought it odd. Nice work! Best, JohnC
