I see your daughter has talent in her drawing. With more hours of drawing and fun experiences in life to open her creativity further, she will go far :-)
As for your entry for the 3 line poem contest - a good entry. You have written it for your daughter and she deserves to shine. Best of luck in the competition.

Hi Debra,
Make sure you tell Katie that she has created a character who leaks personality. There's definitely a story here, crying to get out. Lots of talent!
My suggestions... you be her author. Poetry or prose. Or bits of both.
Does this antenna lassie have friends? Perhaps, a favorite teacher? Ask Katie to add a few more characters with the same classy look. And then design the school. The stories will come. I see a graphic novel... on a book store shelf!
Awesome!
Hugs,
Kimbob

well, it looks like Lynochka did! How neat. Will read it and see what she came up with. I'm sure you are proud of your daughter. Maybe you can put other of her characters up for us to create stories around? How wonderful to be an artist! Maybe Mom could collaborate with her????
Gotta run. More later.

I don't know the first thing about ekphrastic poetry but I know of others who would rise to the challenge and Helen is one of them who has. She is knowledgeable and witty and I am sure she will write something that will tickle your fancy as well as your daughter's.
Good luck with the contest.

This is a cool little poem for the three-line poetry contest, good luck. This is a case where the illustration and the poem come together to make a story. And the story asks for an adventure for the character. I am sure there are some on FS who can provide such an adventure. Your daughter's work is very fun! Terry.

-Wonderful artwork, Debra. Please pass that on to your daughter.
-Thanks for sharing the notes, and I will consider an adventure.
-You wrote a good poem sharing her work and her imagination,
offering it to us to expand our imaginations.
-I wonder if a book of some kind could be made so works could be added and maybe published. It would make a nice surprise for your daughter.

You are very welcome, Debra. Have you published on Amazon before?
-
No, I haven?t published anywhere apart from just the one poem which was included in an anthology!
-
Thanks for sharing. I have a few ideas but don't know how feasible they are. I'll get back to you later.

Hi Pam :)
Sounds interesting - I look forward to hearing your ideas :)

Great challenge. I love the robotic-like anntena. Sadly I can't step -up right now as I've been (and am still really) sick, so have little energy. But oh; I wish I could; kay

Looks like she is ready for her close up. What I like about this poem is it-s suggestions and subtlety. Readers here are called on to imagine either the birth of a new character (in a story, book) or a life full of promise, waiting to happen.
A really endearing poem, Debra. Love this one. And to daughter, Katie: Spectacular talent, beautiful eye you have for colour.
My best wishes to you you both. You will have to share the six stars.
