I found the author's words heartfelt, descriptive, creative and filled with meaning. I like how this author goes into great detail about the journey of life and how precious our time is here. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome and compliments both the theme and words of this poem. Thank you for a great poem! Happy New Year!.....Maria

Wow, this poem just went on and on, and just about the time I was thinking it was nearing the end, it was off and running, carrying on again. Outstanding! Thanks for sharing.

This was a wonderful, thought-provoking poem about life. I loved the metaphor of the sand running through the hourglass to signify our lives. I especially loved the warning against keeping your thoughts silent and emotions hidden from your cherished offspring. A good reminder to not hold back. This was very well done.

A great poem of reflection Mike as we all tend to look back at our life when contemplating what we have achieved. Love wins every time as you point out here, without love, we gain nothing, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I used to get frightened when people would say our lives are like sand through an hourglass. It was so final. You know when that last grain of sand slips through, it's over. There isn't any flipping it over either. But it makes it a lot easier to face when your faith is strong. To know it isn't just ceasing to exist. It's moving to a different plain. It's leaving the hourglass and the sand returning to the sea. Beautifully written. Gretchen

Fantastic narrative. A poem that has great flow and direction. The metaphor of the hourglass makes for a powerful read which all comes to a logical conclusion. Vivid imagery. Great poem.

great poem.

You cover a lot in this poetic mediation on life and what it all means.
i like the first lines the best

in my waking mind
a delicate hourglass appears
moments of one's life
in grains of sand

The symbolism of the hourglass means that we cannot have what we want at once. When we gain what we want it's not permanent. Therefore, you don't have to worry or stop working hard to get more. Also, the hourglass symbolism will affect many parts of your life, you believed in its representation well.

Your poem displayed the parts of our life; it was well represented by your wonderful words and writing of this wonderful poem.

A wonderful metaphor for life and the passage of time, through the hour glass.
Working very well in this poem: life scenes, emotions and reflective passages, the working of them hourglass as synonymous with life.

-Readers start the clock with the first line, and watch these scenes as though through an open window.
-many cherished and spiritual moments contained in this poem, each one held up to the light
-a skilfully weaved poem on the fabric of live and the faith that binds.
A beautiful narrative on this spiritual poem of life. Well done!

I love this commentary Mike. You certainly know how to put into words the things of reflection. The life we lead here are in God's hands. He determines our purpose and the length of our lives. Beautifully written my friend, blessings, Roy
