I'm sure he'll always remember prune juice as poo poo juice!! A fun story. Well written and engaging! It takes me back to my little ones when they were constipated!!

Thank you, Karyn2, for reading, reviewing, and commenting on my entry.
I don't think my son has ever had prune juice since that day in the hospital.
Yes, constipation is a challenging issue when dealing with chidren.

    Have a great day.

Omigoodness! HAHAHAHAHAHA!! I love how literal children are, don't you? We can always count on them for a good laugh exactly when we need it. So, you left out the ending: DID he end up drinking it? And did it work in time for you to take him home that day?

Thank you, Rachelle, for reading and reviewing my entry. Thanks also for all the stars.
Now for your question. Yes, he drank most of it, but only with a lot of prodding--and promises that there wasn't any poo in that brown drink. We got to take him home that day, and he eventually grew up to be a Firefighter.

Now THAT's quite the ending. But now the really big question: does he drink poo-poo juice today?
reply by the author on 16-Jan-2023
No. He favors something a little stronger now that he is in his 40s.

This is so funny. Poor kid. I'm not so sure I would have been excited about drinking poop poop juice either. It is a wonder you ever managed to get him to drink it.

I had a bit of a giggle with this story. It brought back memories of the extent of effort parents go to in order for their children to accept or understand what is about to happen - how adults bring it down to child level but miss the mark. I am still chuckling because I am guilty as a parent trying to make things easier - but who for... really.

Thank you for taking the time to read and review the story--also for all the stars. I bet you have plenty of funny stories, too--most parents do.
    Thanks again.

You made me smile here and hope the prune juice worked when he drank it and he wasn't too confused by it all! It will be the anaesthetic that made him constipated and it usually lasts for a few days, he was very young to have his tonsils out! A fun post, love Dolly x
