A very dramatic chapter with significant spiritual warfare at centre stage. The hospital is aware of the warlock, and he is banished for the moment. The relationship between Tommy and Willa is developing. Best wishes for the continuation of your interesting and complex story.

Good story. Having heavenly intervention seems like it is absolutely necessary in the solving of the crimes. The devil has had his way too long in Aspen Grove. Tommy and Willa are becoming more than partners and friends.

When I was reading about Patience gathering Willa and her partner, Tommy, in a gracious wing hold, the comfort of the wings must have been of a tremendous strength. She arrives when needed for sure! They did get the fellow though who fatally sought Tommy's daughter.

I think the demons are about to lose. They can't fight that angel. When Gaston wakes up he won't like what's waiting for him. I'd like to know who beat him up and why.

This story gets better and better. That Willa and Tommy would go to the hospital where the beaten-up mystery man was taken is no surprise; but Chase Levins's decision to stay at least temporarily is, and convenient because he might be able to repair or get data from the cell phone that had belonged to Joe Santucci.

At the hospital, Tommy is shocked when a specter of an expressionless old man with exceptionally long white hair and beard appeared, pulled back the privacy curtains in Triage #3, and in French shouted, "Gaston! Gaston!" (name meaning "stranger"). The nurse and Tommy could not convince him to either prove he was family or leave, but reinforcement by Willa and a security guard did. It is interesting that nurse Nancy Price had seen him before, and this "warlock" was being watched by hospital security.

In the waiting room, Tommy is pleased when Willa brings him coffee just as he likes it. He returns her kindness by offering to escort her out to go home to get some sleep, as the day's events had exhausted her.

Outside in the increasing cold, Tommy puts his arm around Willa to warm her, and she clings tighter when a demon comes up through the ground. Tommy wastes no time praying for Patience to appear, which she does after a bolt of lightning and clap of thunder, startling the demon Nix, who is trying to guard what he considers his territory. Patience then appears in battle garb. Nix is no match for her, and her spiritual eagles carry him off to Beelzebub with Patience's message that Aspen Grove will no longer be his plaything. Then, after a prayer in a "heavenly tongue," Patience covers Willa and Tommy with her wings and graces them with "indescribable heavenly gifts" we can only imagine.

Your skill with detective stories is surpassed only by your skill with love stories, and this one has both plus the strong spiritual element.

Superb, and aptly illustrated. This chapter is a "Six Plus." :))

You are most welcome, Sal. I'm not surprised to see in the reviews of this book's chapters that your readers think this is your best book so far. Novelty is part of that, but only a small part. The rest is simply your increasing level of skill. Brava! :))))) -- Mike

Sorry to be out of sixes! Great spiritual battle drama depicted here. I'm glad Tommy remembered to call for help from Patience. It's good that Tommy knew to be protective of Willa.
One spag:

Looks like he has his work cut out for him. Demons want to rule there works with their sting bodies. Angles of God rain over earth and fight them off. Will they find that killer? We will have to wait and see what transpires.

This is an exciting chapter! I'm glad Patience has defeated and removed Nix from Aspen Grove. I hope the young man survives. Good dialogue throughout, and a well-written chapter. Blessings. Carol

Oh dear sister, must I have to wait like all the other peasants? Hahaha! This is the most exciting chapter of all. If it was a movie, I would have been yelling out loud, but instead I was at my ipad saying, NO NO, don't go to sleep. He will come back in and kill Gaston! And when Willa took Levins to the hotel, I was yelling in my head. No, you can't leave him alone there. What if they find him. They will try to kill him too. But I should have known my Sweet Sal had it all under control and I don't have to yell at my ipad. I am for sure your biggest fan, and if you know of one that comes close, let me know because we will start a Sally Law fan club and get together and discuss what we think will happen next. (BIG SMILE).

Just way too exciting that I am hoping for at least ten more chapters. I just never want it to end, I love it so much. As one of your groupies, ok how about best friends, I get so excited that I am tempted to ask you questions about what is going to happen next, but I won't, (not that you would tell) cause it would be like peeking at your Christmas gifts under the tree and the excitement would be gone.

So in case you can't tell, I LOVE THIS STORY! LOL, and will enjoy the memory of this and all the other chapters until the next one comes. Thank you so much for another marvelous read, and relax and get some rest now because this stuff can't be good for the heart. And so I say again, BRAVO AND ENCORE!!!!

Drop me a line if you have a chance and let me know how Jack is doing. I miss you. We don't talk as much as we used to. And part of that is me, from thinking that I could dodge reality by running and pretending. And most of all signing up for more than what is possible to do in a few days time. Love ya Sweetie!!

Your flag's at half-mast, not "you're"

Sally, this is so different from anything I've ever read. It's an earthbound story with a heavenly presence. Very interesting and well-written.

I enjoy each new chapter:-)
