Love the picture of this very gorgeous bird, they truly are regal. This is a lovely Acrostic Decima poem, JLR. Well used alliteration throughout, and a great read. Cheers

I like picture. Excellent choice!

I like the opening sentence, "Each new day pushes back the nights.,," We all should wake up with energy to welcome s new day.

I like eagles but have not yet seen one et. They certainly deserve to be our royal birds.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks Chan, I hope you strive to see an eagle in a native habitat someday, they are breathtakingly beautiful.

A very nice Acrostic Decima! You have expressed your poem about the eagle well, capturing its majestic beauty in very descriptive and apt ways. Well composed.

Eagles are such a majestic bird, you have painted a picture with words of the natural world and the struggle to survive. I like the acrostic form of poetry, I really enjoyed this. :)

Very interesting poem about daily survival in nature. The words are powerful and give a great description of the skills of the king of the air!!!
Conforms to the Acrostic Decima in rhyme and syllable count, except for the last line of the 1st stanza.

What a beautiful picture, J. There are many eagles in Canada on the west coast, so I spot them often.

Your acrostic Decima is well done with a good flow and rhymes where they ought to be.

Much enjoyed and many thanks for sharing.

Hi J,
I really liked this Acrostic Decima about Eagles. I for one can't wait for the spring. There were 500 pairs of nesting Eagles last spring, we're going to have so many of them this year, flying around! So exciting.
Quite possibly I will have fewer mice trying to make a home in my basement next year! LOL
Lovely poem loved the image too.
Susan :)

Susan, thanks for sharing! That is a very promising number indeed! Yes fewer field mice is likely. Have a splendid week!

Wow, I find a rhyming acrostic a difficult enough form to compose in such a way that the rhymes do not sound forced -- this format is even more demanding! You've done it though -- your poem is lovely.

I have read a few of the acrostic decimas and I really enjoyed this one. The eagle is a regal creature that was designed to hunt with grace and beauty. I'm glad you highlighted it in your poem.

This acrostic poem, EARLY EAGLE, follows the vertical first-letter theme and reminds the readers that the noble bird controls all it surveys. The creatures below understand.
