We can read so much into this poem!
How did the relationship begin, continue, and end? Did only two people know? Are the references to the weather literal or metaphorical? We can easily imagine numerous scenarios, because you kick-start our imaginations.

Your words and image are so gorgeous. The Grand Canyon is beyond its beauty. When you fly in a plane and look down at this rocky land, it looks like a person would like to vacation there.

This is a really nice Tanka. It reminds me of my trip to the Grand Canyon years ago.

I can relate to this poem as I did a lot of travelling with someone who I was once very close to, but I just knew the end was nigh, sad but inevitable, a fine write, love Dolly x

The picture and the poem complement each other. The text is carefully written and carries strong emotions. The form seems simple but the ideas are often complex.

Hello Gypsy. I enjoy reading your Tankas and I'm glad you have created a book to tuck them away and hopefully publish them one day. I went to the Grand Canyon a few years ago and it is so amazing and beautiful from the view at the top, but you have given us a new perspective. Well done.

I enjoyed the metaphors. I can see the how the deep gorges can relate to deep cuts within our souls. Once again, you created a perfect package filled with emotion. Wonderful job. I don't have any sixes left, sorry.

Brilliant use of metaphors. The turbulance of the winds and water in the gorge are used to describe both the physical and emotional end of a relationship.
Perfect.
Best wishes,
Mary
