Returned to catch up on reading your bio. I'm sure you meant some sympatric people along the way other than Dusty. Did he turn out to be your friend once you left McDonald's?

Oh, much more than that. Appreciate your review.

I think the iceberg will stay intact. I thought of lettuce when I read your words. I think I may have read the chapters out of order, but it's okay. It's good no matter what. Have a great evening. Shirley

Hi Brett,
Another interesting chapter. I enjoyed reading about Charlie Pride and I do enjoy the information that you provide concerning the various artists, however, in this case it took up almost half of the volume that you wrote. I was hoping that the story that pertained to you was going to be a little longer. Nonetheless, it's very interesting. It sounds like Dusty isn't too easily fooled by what people say, but like many people, still believes the lines that the establishment wants to put out. Few things are the way that they are portrayed. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
Have a blessed day.

It seems life truly has been a harrowing time for you and you capture the stresses and truths in the language and mindset befitting the tale.
It is hard for many to understand the impact of this on the lives of the affected.
Good luck with future chapters.

Now it's getting interesting. I hope you opened up and told him how they beat you and the other boys. I hope you told him all the dirty little details and risked death before you let him take you back to that place. I do understand he did eventually believe you. I am interested in your story, Brett. Write on! Nancy:).

I hope You showed Dusty your scars and welts from the whippings and beatings. He seems like a good man but not a walk-over, tough and not one to cross. I suppose he at that point had no idea whether you were trustworthy. Hoping the ice-berg doesn't fracture. Write more soon.

I wondering what you will be able to say that will make this man realize you shouldn't hage to go back there. I'm glad you are posting this story again. I like the Cody story to but you did say you would finish this one first.

People usually don't like to find out what is presented to them is not as it appears. Dusty did what normal folks do. Ask you why, if you just got a beating for running away, why run again. He probably realizes you felt no other choice could ensure your survival. Another good solid chapter. This time it was the more detailed introduction to Dusty. Great job. Gretchen

So many times in life we sit and listen, not wanting to share that we've experienced what the story tellers are talking about, and even maybe to a greater degree. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Brett, so it is certainly not love at first sight so to speak. I can of course see the precautions taken at this first encounter. Very well written an I'm waiting for more. Ulla:)))
