Beautiful poem which reads like a song. It's human nature to hold on to the effects of sin even though we know that the Lord completely covered them through Jesus!

The black background on your awesome image highlighted the
beautiful image, Debi. The font choice worked well as a letter
written, too. Your words flowed smoothly with great imagery. I
liked the refrain--it kept the poem moving forward while at the
same time tying all together. Your rhymes were excellent. I could
hear this being read as I read it. You did an awesome job as the
events of your life were expressed from God's POV. He understood
and shared with you about the trauma and how to live with it--hence
the refrain. You did a great job with the refrain when it changed
to reflect His POV after you allowed Him back into your life and
you understood you were given a new beginning with Him. Now,
you have a new refrain to guide you and not live with regrets of the
past.

This poem, Letter from God, serves as a reminder to all of us that even the cruelest, darkest, and most evil occurrences in our lives do not separate us from the love of God and His acceptance. Forgiving others is both difficult and necessary.

I know not if grammatically, all here is well, but I must tell the story is uplifting as it reminds us of what's done is dunned in the book of life, and we shall be forgiven for past experiences by who loves us unconditionally.

This was a wonderful poem, Debi. It sounds like coming again to the lord is what turned you around and made you able to come to grips with your past and let go of it. I'm very happy for you.
The poem was beautifully written with excellent rhyme and meter. I loved how you repeated the couplets after each verse and changed it after you came again to the lord. Very well done.

Great poem, it's like a prayer of hope and assurance that all will be well in the end. I live with someone who remains scarred decades after the fact!! It's not easy to forget, sometimes it's beyond our control, even as a child of God...

Debi, I can't express enough how much I like this poem. It speaks of so much hurt and pain but the repetition of the refrain and it's subtle change is perfection. How many people in this world need to hear that the events of their past do not define them? .. I think so, so many need that daily reminder and even more so to know that new choices, new decisions and the good that lies in today can be the defining moment that changes things forever. This is excellent writing and truly inspirational.
