Good thing for Cody, not so for the Sheriff: "the sheriff wasn't watching his every movement." It's weird you bring up this topic. I just saw on Curse of Oak Island, coins that didn't looking coins. Maybe this was the case: "Back in the days when coins were stamped in different weights to reflect the true value of each coin, and to keep people from shaving their edges or melting them into new coins,"

I had actually heard that about people shaving the edges off coins, but I didn't remember it until I read it here. I am sorry Cody has been banned from contests! Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Hi Brett, this was an interesting read about the coins. I'm learning something new all the time. I'm glad you've found a way round the committee. All best, Ulla:)))

I remember when we were there in America, all your coins were so small, we've done away with cents, but our coins are much bigger, and we have a fifty cent piece, and notes start at $5, with different colours for note denominations. Easier to handle, beautifully written Brett, blessings Roy

The progressively delete small denominations as their value diminishes, I can remember the manifold $1 notes and pennies accumulating in the US,

Can they do a blanket ban on ALL contests? I thought that they would have to consider contest entries individually for each contest according to the directions and rules for that particular contest. If the contest is not blind, why should your story be banned? Nevertheless this story was a good read, as he learns something new about coins.

Hello Brett,
I guess I'm more familiar with Unwanted Dog. I must have missed Cody somewhere down the line. Sorry that you had trouble with entering him into the contests. Oh well, you're working around it now. It was interesting reading about the coins ridges. I never knew that. Of course so much of our modern coins have so little real silver in them that I don't know how much it would matter if they were shaved a little. At the rate we're printing money, none of it will be worth anything soon. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Thanks, mate. I presume the CEC is the competition boffins? This was a good read and glad you found a way to get around the "restrictors!" Always good to read about Cody.

Thank you for sharing this post with us. I am wondering how many of us had piggy banks growing up. I'm betting most of us did. I enjoyed reading and keep posting Cody stories for our enjoyment.

I always enjoy the Cody stories. The Sheriff is an excellent character as well. He is always trying to teach Cody something new. I can't help but wonder if Cody is a bit like you as well, but he doesn't seem quite as eager to get into trouble as the boy on Unwanted Dog. Cody seems to do what the sheriff tells him to.

Since I began posting Unwanted Dog, which is not finished yet, and I will continue in a couple days, several members have pointed out they see similarities in Cody and myself. I never had. Perhaps they see something I missed? Anyway, appreciate the review.
