People are freezing over there and I am thinking like every time this year ,that I have never sen snow! There is no winter as such here we have mildly cool weather Nov Dec Jan and if we are lucky Feb too The rest of the year is hot!
Ending line of Shelly's Ode to the west wind, If winter comes ,can spring be far behind?" Spring will soon come .Love Santha
Happy New year to you and your family.

Hi Santha, I can't remember your exact location but didn't you tell me that your kids were in Indonesia?
I guess we take what God gives us and are appreciative for a nice warm house. However last week we had 20 inches of new snow, -30 temps, and when the wind blew we had -70 windchill temps and a blizzard. Now that's all coming again tomorrow. I really appreciate your very kind review and comments for my " waiting" poem. As much as those scenarios can happen, the severe ones are only about every four years. Thanks again my dear friend!

I am in India .Northern Indian states experience winter and some of them get a snow. But I am inSouth where there is no winter .

That is what I thought. Sometimes I think that one drastic weather pattern can be as bad as the next. I complain equally when our temps get to 100 degrees F in July and August. Lol

I really enjoyed reading this poem. I love how you went through the different holidays waiting on Spring to come and the pic you used is beautiful. I don't think I could stand it though. ð??? I live in West Virginia, and we get a lot of snow, but nothing compared to Minnesota. Great job!

La Tessa, I really appreciate your very kind review and comments for my " waiting" poem. Also for the lovely six stars. We're starting out badly here. Last wk temps minus thirty, close to minus seventy windchill temp and when the wind blew, we had a blizzard. Now tomorrow supposed to be the same. As much as those scenarios can happen, the severe ones are only about every four years. Thanks again my dear friend!

I love your poem and didn't know Minnesota was so cold. I have a sister in Buffalo and right now the snow has covered her porch and up to her windows. But nothing will get her out of that part of New York. Best wishes in the contest.

I'm not from Minnesota but can still relate to your grievance against the cold months! In NJ, it seems we don't even have a spring anymore. Just a few months of summer and back to the wait again! I appreciate the humor you've brought to this "cold" fact. Fun to read and nicely done!

Waiting is frustrating and hard, particularly when you do not know when the wait shall end. Interesting reflection on where you live. It gave me an insight into living in cold climes.

Hi Jacquelyn, I see that you are new here, and once again I welcome you. However, I'm not sure if your finger hit a three by accident or if you aren't aware of how we review. I have never in all my posts, had a three. In fact I have had many sixes on this one.
If you don't mind I would like to help you with that. Only because I know this happens with most new people who are trying to learn how things are done. Believe me, I have been there.
If you have been marking threes or fours for people, you might have a little trouble gaining the respect and friendship of others.I am not for one minute asking you to be dishonest, but want to explain what a three means. If you feel it's necessary to ever give one, then you are always supposed to give reasons why you thought the post was not very good. Everyone has raved about this one how smooth and right on beat, I am not bragging but I am known for my perfect rhymes and meter, so you caught me off guard here..
Another problem for newcomers is that many times they don't understand when certain writers have a style that they've not heard of before, and that is not good to rate them on that.
If we get too many of these bad reviews, it can affect our rankings considerably. That's why we work so hard to to get those fives and sixes.
If there's a question about how it should be done, it is a good idea to read other reviews on it from professional authors who have been writing on and off here for years. I hope you don't take this as anything but me trying to be kind and helpful, because I would be a horrible fellow author to just leave you continue without helping
. Please view the ratings and comments by others and you will see what I mean. And if not, it is mandatory to tell on threes and below what it was that you thought was so bad about it. On fours, you must tell why and what they can improve on. But please make sure you understand their style of writing first.
I hope that helps somewhat and look forward to you letting me know. If you have any questions, I am very happy to answer anything you ask.
I do thank you for reading it though. And once again, welcome my friend.

I judge as I see. If you have a group of "friends" that rate you five or six; sobeit. My
I appreciate rhythm and quality, and, quite frankly your poem did not speak toe.
No message, no verses to be shouted from the rooftops.
. Everyone is different and appreciates different qualities.

Oh, Debi... It's darling! And exceptional, as well.
I was speaking to my cousin a couple of days ago. He lives just south of Minneapolis, where it was 37 degrees. He was feeling pretty happy about that, threatening to wear a tee and shorts. And then I said, "Oh, that's awful! It's 73 degrees here today." I'm actually a bit surprised he didn't hang up on me! lol.
I keep asking him to move to Texas, where the weather is equally unpredictable. But he's as much a Minnesotan as I am a Texan. :)
Blessings this coming new year and best in the contest.

This is a well-written entry to the Bring Spring contest. The text is a great size. Your description of your weather makes me feel cold in balmy Virginia. I recall when stationed in the winter in Frankfurt, Germany a group of soldiers playing touch football in the snow while wearing shorts. Some of us were amazed until another soldier said," those guys are from Minnesota. This is nothing to them." Good entry, I saw you tied for second place. The visual fits perfectly.

-Thanks for sharing the photo, notes, and poem, Debi.
-You did a good job showing what the winter season is like in Minn.
-Effective imagery, rhyme, and repetition of waiting adds to the winter woes.
-I like the line about Valentine's Day, and
"hearts bloom despite the cold."
-Vivid description of the flowers for Easter and Mother's Day.
-A very good concluding verse.
-Good luck in the contest, and have a great 2023!!!

What a unique and beautiful poem. I live in Duluth, MN and have been here most of my life, so I'm used to snow. Thanks for sharing this with us, especially the photo. :)

Thank you for this review and kind comments Sharon. I do appreciate the six stars too. I am sorry that I upset you earlier, but was truthfully trying to be kind and help. My point was that if you let your kids give you all their sixes, most every week, then that is showing favoritism and affects everyone's rank as well. And it isn't hard to believe the worst if the six star reviews are there every time, which is just as wrong as voter fraud. I am going to take a step back and leave this alone, as it is not good for my health to fight this if nobody wants the help. Have a good day Sharon.

I like the play on words which also forms a juxtaposition: "St Patty's Day brings nothing green/ This season's getting old" I live in Vermont usa. We know what our weather will be by watching you. We complain that we have no spring either: "Mother Nature has decided, to skip Spring all together" Well expressed.
