My sentiments exactly, after that arctic blast. I live in North Carolina, and we had the coldest Christmas in 33 years. Went down to 14, which is cold for us. I liked how used this upbeat meter and ringing traditional rhyme scheme to create a poem in the pastoral romantic genre that looks over the head of winter at the joys of the coming spring. Lots of color, texture and sound to your poetic images. estory

Although those Minnesota winters seem to last forever (as I was informed on a review reply from another poem about Minnesota winters) t your line brought back the previous spring:

The memories of springtime that I hold
are bringing me to warmer days long past.

You then went on to discuss lilacs fragrance, trees foliage,waterways, grass, birds singing, etc.

None of us can wait until springtime. The flowers will creep through the snow and display the daffodils and bluebells; then come the violets with their colors galore. Like your poem.
