This poem, Spring Dreams, presented with five ABAB-rhymed quatrains, brings the readers into the cold, wintry scene of Minnesota which also promises to bring back all that hides beneath the season snow.

Your ability to bring together the senses with 'the scents of lilac' and 'the birds sing their tunes is a wonderful well-rounded experience. I particularly love the imagery in the second stanza, 'while trees put on their leafy gowns of green' and 'a carpet of sweet grass.'
The following stanzas with their description of expectation of what is to come brings the reader into that expectation as well.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful poem!

I love four seasons. I live in the north east, it is pretty cold here. Although I haven't seen heavy snow in NYC yet, I can imagine what springtime will look like.
Your poem has given me a preview of its beauty. I can't wait for spring to come.

Hi Boogie!
I'm loving this! Right now it looks like my grass is getting greener, I put my plants outside to get watered, it was supposed to rain today, but it didn't, and it was 47 degrees most of the day! I couldn't believe it! The carwash has been open for 2 days already! The lines have been crazy long! lol
Well... I'm sure you know what that's like!
Where do I live that this is nuts??? I'm about 5 minutes from the Canadian border in Vermont!
Last week we had a crazy storm. First rain, turned to snow, and if there weren't doors on 3 sides of my house, I'd have been locked inside for 2 days. The ice got in my slider tracks, couldn't open that, and it got into one of my door locks and froze the mechanism, which was locked at the time. Didn't open for 2 days!
I do have tulips in pots in my garage that seem to want to grow no matter what. This weather should put them over the edge.
Anyway, I loved this poem, and the picture is very cool. Spring! Where are you! I'm fine with being done paying for heat! ;)
Happy New Year!
Susan :)

I live in Duluth, Minnesota, about 200 miles from the Canadian border. We've got a lot of snow, but not that much below zero weather...yet. Thank you so much for this wonderful review, it means the world to me. :)

This is a beautiful poem. The imagery is vivid and one can clearly see the the scenes your words capture. I enjoy the rhyme and rhythm you've created here, too. Well done. Happy New Year.

Wonderfully stated my friend!
My favorite anticipatory part:
It's worth the wait, the beauty we will see
and all the wonders springtime surely holds.
I lived in a California for several years and actually found myself missing the seasons.
Thanks for sharing.

A well written and all around crafted poem and display. It really does scream spring. Nice choice of visuals too.
notes:
the gentle winds will {soft}, caress our skin.
-should this be: softly

The author's words are descriptive, meaningful and creative. I just got
home from New Orleans and it was 35 degrees! I was freezing - I am now
glad to be back in Florida! I like the title the author gave this poem.
"Spring Dreams". Thank you for the author's notes - they speak volumes.
The artwork is awesome and compliments this poem.
