Well I've been writing a long time.
(almost 20 years)
But I write ferociously and I dig within my mind.

Another well-thought, unique, and very creative entry! I really like how you presented it with the image, the black background, and the tan font. To me it seems like the font could represent a thin light soil, of some sorts, layered over very rich black soil. And the picture with the ice could represent glaciers over both of the soils...which is probably how our dead Earth would look like at some point after we're wiped out. So, I thought that was cool if it's what you were going for. Great Job!!

When I was working on this one.
I wanted to go as deep as I could.
As dark as I could and as cold as I could.

Oh yes, I can understand why the cold could be pretty distressing, I've found that Northern Hemisphere homes are geared to the cold, whereas our homes are a little more traditionally geared to the heat. But efficient heating and cooling systems are making insides more comfortable, but then there energy costs? Heh heh, beautifully written Ricky, blessings Roy

This is a very somber piece. When I look around I do wonder about all the pain, fear and awfulness I see. Is God watching? Will He fix this? When you've experience great pain and loss, it can be difficult to keep believing.
