This is a good ekphrastic 5-7-5 poem which also can be metaphoric for the troubles of life. It easily earned the second place finish in the contest.

I like that poem and the picture that goes with it. I love to watch storms come in. I used to sit on the front porch with my dad and watch the storms arriving. There is something awe inspiring about thunder storms. Well done.

This is a very descriptive poem that conjures up a coming storm well. It has the right number of syllables per line for the 5-7-5 contest and reads well. I just think that 'awaiting' is the wrong word for the last line as surely clouds predict hard rain or are you saying that you are awaiting the rain?
