Oh No. Your daughter didn't name anything she wanted. Could it be you handed her the greatest gift of all...your credit card? Lol The boys were easy and practical...cash and cards for food and gas. Whatever clothes you bought for your wife I know would be wrong. As a wife, I have experience. Cute and humorous Christmas story.

Reads like poetry. Interesting. Good work.
There are pros and cons with respect to credit card use. Using the card at stores for purchases allows you to cancel payment should the item prove to have serious issues. It also allows stores access to the account number for nefarious reasons.
I once had a friend who got into serious trouble for using someone else's card. Glad it worked out for your daughter.
Best wishes.

We often joke about her having all my credit card information on her phone. If I ask her to get something for her mother, the item is on its way within minutes.

Guess what daughter did with your credit card? I sure hope you're smart enough to never give one to your wife, son, etc. My granddaughter always wants cash too. My grandson--books!

This is a clever bit of short fiction. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but it it is, I bet your daughter enjoyed shopping for those Christmas gifts. Your daughter didn't want anything, but you didn't say if she got herself something. I admire people who can write cohesive flash fiction that is complete in itself and makes sense. Well done.

This was a fun story. My father usually sends me and my sister with money to buy his gifts to our mother. LOL. Thanks for sharing this story here, and best wishes to you.

. . . of course the daughter didn't want anything. She has
what she wanted--the credit card. You did a great job, Bill,
with your story. It read so real with great details and imagery.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

A wonderful and delightful story. Your show Christmas shopping so easy: 1,2 3 and its it's done except I suspect that Christmas will be remembered every month thereafter when the credit card bill comes due.
Clever and fun read.
Best wishes
Mary
