You are right, writing transports us to places and emotion-filled adventures not found in life. I completely agree with you, our own imagination can make us "feel and cry"
Great insight!

This is a really good poem. I understand what you mean. I cry at some things but not others. I might cry over a sad song or movie but not for the really excruciating things. I think some pain goes too deep for tears. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much. I do actually cry at a few movies, but it's more just choking up than shedding actual tears. The water-works sure come with writing, though.

You are welcome.

Jim,
You have hit the ball right out of the park! An excellent confessional poem. I was caught off-guard by the line "...even at the real-life loss of people that I know...."
I look forward to more of your work.

I love that you have empathy for your characters while you don't cry in the "real world." This was a great poem. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thank you so much for the good review, Jessi. I don't know why it is this way, but it just is.

You have a singular way of expressing emotion. I also shed tears when I write poignant scenes in my novels and short stories.
I like how you describe yourself throughout the poem. Rod

I'm glad there's someone else who's similarly moved by their characters. Thank you for the great review, Rod.
