This had a nice touch of tongue-in-cheek humor: "What a test for a marriage, too much time with your spouse" Great juxtaposition:
"parents hide for kids, hid too easy, in front
Kids hide for parents, to find, takes a month" A nice presentation, very compelling. A+

Oh Liz, you are a treasured keepsake! I just love you to pieces. And not just for the six shiny stars, because I do love them. But you are such a refreshing breath of fun and I love that you caught parts and shared that with me. That is a dream review. I think the voting ends today so we will see how it does. Thank you again for the whole package. You are the best! (Big Hug!)

This is a wonderful poem. You have creatively entwined your family and the story, The Night Before Christmas. Your rhyming scheme made your poem flow so easily through my mind. Have a blessed day.

Good luck wishes regarding the contest entry, Debi. It was a fantastic picture of all your children. I loved how you broke it up to handle the different events of the year, some sad while others were joyful. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings n Hugs!

Debi, my TSOTU, you have had quite a year, and I am honored to have shared it with you as you have skillfully navigated the milestones and bumps in the road--a year well done.
Your poem reads and flows with the love that's in your heart for all of your beautiful family. I especially liked:
Many people been here, without masks, spreading cheer
Santa's got right idea,; see them just once a year
(Amen. I hear you, Sister, and I get it!)
I would love to see that ice fishing house. You'll have to ask them to take a photo of it the next time they are out there. No need to worry, I'm not movin' in--hate the cold. It's part of that four-letter group of words. Snow is at the top of the list. I only like to have snow for Christmas night after everyone is home and safely tucked into their beds--don't let it snow on the Eve because people are still travelling. Snow can be a killer. Ugh.)
Great photo of the beautiful grandchildren. A pleasure to read. This poem made me smile and want to reach out and hug everyone in it, including the BIL, but not if the Weather is on. Lol. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. Sorry for the late review. Just saw it. Out of Sixers. When I'm away and babysitting, everything go astray. Xo. M

Lol, you are so cute Margaret. So many things in common, even the hating cold and snow, girls traveling for work, wanting to be a little more careful w catching things and could easily go crazy w being alone w weather watching spouse. I sent you a picture of the fish house that you asked for.
I appreciate your virtual six as it is the thoughtfulness that counts. And thank you for all your kind words for my Christmas Newsletter, my sweet sotu!

Enjoyed reading your Christmas newsletter; you did a great job writing it in poetry. The family picture is a nice touch; it's so nice to see your grandkids. I hope you continue to heal from your surgery, and I pray you have a blessed Christmas and new year with your family. Blessings.

This was a fun write, yet took me a while to match the rhymes and some of the words of the original. Everyone sure got in the Christmas spirit, that entered this contest. Ciao!
A creative entry!
I enjoyed reading the ups and downs your family faced this year.
Having a big supportive family makes facing the tough times( like when covid rears its ugly face or health issues arise) , less scary.
May these last weeks preceding Christmas pass smoothly.
Ciao !

Hi Debi,
I loved your Christmas Card Newsletter! All about the family, kids, grandkids, and the rest. These are all such fun to read. They remind me of the ones my mom and her sisters used to write. I really wish I had them!

great entry for the contest, Debi, and lovely pic of the family too. Quite a task to sum up your whole year in poetic form, especially since there are so many members to be included. however I now have a much better awareness of the kind of things that your family are interested in and as with any family some of the challenges that you faced in 2022.
Merry Christmas and good luck in the contest. let's hope Glen gets all his shopping done before the big day!

Thanks so much Steve, for such kind words for my Christmas Newsletter poem. Actually, I consider this year a very rewarding year. I will finally walk again, all of my family is healthy now and my lupus and kidney disease are doing ok. Plus I have the best bunch of online friends and second family here on FS and I am so blessed. You are so thoughtful and I appreciate your kindness more than you could possibly know, my friend.
