I can so relate to your doggy and feline tale here. My two cats and four guinea pigs are on a schedule and they let me know when I need to get moving and feed them. Like you, I wouldn't trade them for anything. Cute story here that shows how wonderful your day is.

Thank you, and thanks for the six stars. I appreciate them. It is nice to know that there are others out there who are willing slaves to their pets. I love them all and would miss them if they were gone.
    Hugs.

Hi Bluebird,
Six? I thought my house was crowded when I had three! Now I don't have any. I've moved to Vermont, and I have new critters. They've come in the form of birds, which I couldn't have before, and Mama raccoon, which came along last summer with her 4 babies! (Mama had climbed up on my grill to get at the feeder I'd forgotten outside. I thought I was being broken into, but it was just the family getting fed at the slider! Sooo cute!)
My gray squirrel and my little red one are characters though. They're the ones that let me know when I haven't been out to feed everyone on time. They climb the bedroom window screen and start chattering at me!
Tibby used to just bat me on the nose. :)
Susan :)

Thank you. It sounds like you are ruled by critters too. We have coons around here, and have to take our feeders in at night or they destroy them. We also have black bear that will occasionaly steal from out bird feeders. It makes life interesting. Six cats and a dog make life interesting too. I love them all, though.

As a dog owner and lover, I can relate to your typical day.
However, I only have one dog.

I can't imagine taking care of so many, good for you!!

It is work much like a toddler. Despite that she is 10 years old, Labrador's are forever puppies.

Most of my time is spent with several walks a day, and lots of fetch. Some days she wears me out!

Thanks for sharing your typical day!'

Thank you. I love dogs as much as cats. My dog is outnumbered but she doesn't mind. She grew up with the cats, and for a while, I think she tought she was a cat too.

Neat, and funny! We are the same, we adopt our pets as members of the family. We care for them, feed and groom them, and clean the litter box, all to be repeated as needed.
Losing a pet is almost like losing a relative, we mourn and have a special burial place with a suitable tribute.
Good work,
irish

Thank you. It's nice to find out that many like me consider our pets family. When one must cross the rainbow bridge I miss them terribly.

Your typical day sounds about as exciting as mine and I only have one sweet but demanding cat who often wakes me up before daylight to be fed! I sometimes I don't feed her at that hour but she hasn't given up on it.

I know just what you mean. It's just me and Luna and she gives me so much joy.

I enjoyed this post. You've captured a busy day in 100 words. The days fly by when you are home, but those obligations are still very real. It's good you get some reading and exercise in too. Sounds like a full day for someone who doesn't have to work anymore, lol.

Thank you. I love my critters and would be lost without them. They are worth the time and money I invest in them. They provide me with companionship and love.

If you have seven pairs of eyes looking at you, you are not retired. You merely changed jobs. I'm sure all of your fur babies make great company and keep you busy cleaning and feeding. Ugg. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you. I enjoy my animal family. I lost my husband four years ago, and both of sons died young. They give me love and companionship every day.

Great entry for the contest. Sounds like you are at the beck and call of your animals and the day is filled with looking after them. Life is so different, when you are retired, isn't it?

Thank you. Yes, life is different after retirement. We had a dairy farm, and I actually miss the four o'clock mornings, the cows, and all the other work related to farming. I would be totally bored without my critters to keep me busy.

I enjoyed your post. It is similar to mine. But I stay so busy and I am not bored. Bridge club, book club, trivia and having coffee with the neighbors take a lot of my time. I didn't even mention the time I spend on Fanstory. I have met the neatest people. Good luck with your contest! Sarah

Thank you. I try to stay busy too. We had a dairy farm and our work load was tremendous. I actually miss the farming now my husband is gone. I'm considering asking my dairy farmer friend if he needs some help with the milking now and then.

Six cats? Yikes! We had six cats when I had a farm in Tennessee, but they were outdoor cats. They lived in the barn. We fed them with huge auto-feeders that lasted a week. They drank from a spring. I don't mind cats, but the hair builds up... So, yes, you do have a job! LOL.

Thank you. Yes, I always tell everyone that I don't need carpets because I have wall to wall cat hair. I don't really mind, they give me companionship and something to care for.
