Okay. I found this a little choppy. It didn't flow clear and concise to me.
For example:
You wrote- While there are many mistakes I have made in my life I guess I'm a poster child for any sin can be forgiven.
I don't recall in your story where you reiterated about all these mistakes.,
Unless I'm missing something, I think this can be cleaned up a bit.

There is no offense taken on my part. My father told us we didn't need to attend church to believe in God. He did not believe in organized religions. We could go to church or not. It was our choice. Your story reminded me of my father's belief.

With every word I read, I can feel the truth behind them and your emotions of how it affected you at that particular time in life. I know that I have been blessed by the Lord and that without him by my side, I would never have survived to be where I am today.

I really enjoyed reading this, and couldn't help laughing at your reason for stating you were Catholic when you did. It was a good enough reason, and I think I'd have said the same. Your awesome essay reminds me of some unforgettable incidents that have taken place in my life. My sister who became ultra religious in her late teens, became my enemy because she insisted on converting me just as I was entering my fun years as a teen. I fought back and that alienated her. We were both members of the choir and had many friends among the same people. Years later on a visit from my home in California, she invited me and my wife to her home for a dinner. She had me sit at the foot of the stairs leading into her basement. One after another almost everyone I knew came in and let me tell you, there were tears aplenty that day. Over time, my sister showed me so much love, and refused to let me reciprocate. I wrote my first book so that I could give her something I was sure she would not refuse to take. Sadly she died just a few weeks before I could make the presentation. I miss her more than I have the words to express. Your wonderfully written essay brought back those memories and much, much more. Thank you.
