I like the thoughtful consideration of portals that are open but not perceiving anything. Good use of personification and alliteration and a summary line that is philosophical - existential even.

Thank you for your poem. There are plenty of such places in Europe, and in the US. Last year, I visited an old fort (2nd world war fortification) and it was both fascinating and creepy, especially when I thought about the history of the place. I also associate all those empty windows and missing door as some kind of a portal. Old building have their souls.
