Ha, I really got a charge out of the Shriners Hospital. Tis the time to donate generously.

Some dynamite humour here, Sal. I especially loved the square on. "Doughnuts". You even spelled it the right way.

As always your writing is spot on, entertaining and makes us want to read more. :))

Hi Sally,
I think this is the first time I've ever read a novel where demons are actually talking, and performing their evil deeds. Ever since the Garden of Eden, Satan and his demons have been working to destroy "gardens" and take God's creation back into some form of chaos. Of course, we never see them. But can we miss the chaos and those they've influenced? You don't have to look very far... just recall what Putin has done, not only to Ukraine and its people, but also to his very own Russian people. Demons are smiling, rubbing their hands together. They don't care who they destroy... good and bad alike are doomed to Hell. That's Satan's bottom line. He wants to take as many down with him as he can.
The one thing I would suggest, Sally, is that Tommy is taking the appearance of Patience, and indeed Nix as well, more calmly than I would imagine. I don't mean that he should be scared. But this is an awesome revelation. It would confirm spiritual reality for him... not just that, but God is real. Satan is real. Angels and demons are real. Heaven and Hell... real. Any doubt in his mind would now be dissolved. Where's the nearest Bible? It's time to start reading! And what about this discovery? I mean, what did the Shepherds do after the angel visited them on that Bethlehem hillside? They wanted to spread the news that a Savior had been born. They were the first missionaries! But the angel had to calm them down first. They were petrified at the sight of this angelic being. God can't use a petrified servant. The angel had to reassure these men on the midnight shift. He/she had to set them on the right road... "There were shepherds in the same country staying in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock. And look, an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified." Luke 2:8-9
But what was Tommy's reaction when he fell in with Patience and Nix? You wrote about the encounter between Patience and Nix brilliantly. But you didn't say much about Tommy's reaction to all he witnessed. I'd have to go back and re-read, but did Tommy have any relationship with Christ? Was he a believer? Suddenly, it's all laid out before him. I almost think he'd want to visit the nearest clergyperson, and have a chat. This is something he'd need a bit of help with... coming to an understanding of what's going on. He's got to deal with this. Did he even ask Patience where his daughter, Phoebe, is? How she is? (Again, I'd have to go back and re-read chapter 4.) And the biggest question: "Should I become a Christian now?" Sooner or later, he's got to come to terms with this "truth".
Here's my favorite part of this chapter,
" "Remember when I told you I'd encountered an angel at the crime scene? Well... it was more than a brief encounter. Call it a supernatural partnership. Not only does the angel want to find Phoebe's killer, she's revealing the key players that have been involved in these decades-old crimes against our children. This morning she appeared at my door to deliver the cell phone."

Both Hank and Willa turned as white as the driven snow."

Here we go again... how will Hank and Willa react to this announcement? Are they religious? Are they believers? What are they really thinking?

Nicely penned!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Love the character names and the humour in the opening paragraphs Sally. When I read - "No, Tommy! We don't think you're crazy. Take a look at this report." I'm surprised you couldn't hear my aaah! Guess I will have to wait to find out. Great chapter Sally, sorry I haven't a six left,
cheers,
valda

I can't tell you how much I hate cliff-hangers! This continues to be a great story and immediately hooks the reader. I was just getting fully engrossed and ... continued next week... Seriously, I can't wait to read the next installment.

I can't imagine what might be on that cell phone. And I think the biker dude is about to lose his other ear when his boss finds out it's a decoy. He's going to realize too late that making deals with the devil is a very bad idea.

This is an interesting chapter as Patience helps Tommy. I don't remember why Santucci had to die. Was he a good guy or a bad one? Well-written and editted.

Ah, Hank and Willa " turned as white as the driven snow" because they had a supernatural encounter also sometime before. This will make it easier if the whole team are united with the belief in God on their side.
Great work by Patience!

The angel appears at the right time for sure in this story. Another miracle and another discovery brings the story's plot a little unassured. I am glad there are angels in your story; they will probably straighten out the demons. Demons can do much trouble to the mind.
