Hi Jesse,
I do hope your dream comes true real soon.
This is a beautiful poem and it was a pleasure to read. I love the easy flowing that evokes the idea of running.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Maria, for the generous stars and for getting the gist of the flow, which evokes the idea of running.

Those baby steps have come with slow and painful strides, but I hope you can feel the difference since your surgery and will soon be ramping up your levels of movement. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, Ric. I hope to be ramping up my levels of movement and how! I keep pursuing my dreams of walking and then running as fast as I can! Thanks for the positive support, my friend!

Imaginative for sure. Was Flash your boyhood hero? What about Pegasus? Did he run along aside of you? Who else had winged feet in our youth-filled days.

How on earth is 'running' a restful dream? Unless you run as a means to rest your spirit. I liked this poem as it brought to mind similar dreams of active feet. For me, it was basketball and being able to dunk from anywhere. Alas, I couldn't dunk in real life. Fun read.

As always, Jesse, this is such an encouraging and inspiring poem. I knew it would be just from the title.

I actually found the line "I race to reach the finish line" interesting because, from everything I know about you, that race, and the ability to run or walk it, is the finish line, and one I have no doubt you will cross.

I love the optimism and imagery of lines like, "flying without a sound, at least one foot above the ground."

This is simply a very happy poem, and a pleasure to read.

Hello Michele. Racing to reach the finish line is my continual race that will never be finished in actuality since I intend to keep on trucking as I succeed in every dream I have. I hope to walk and then run and strive as long as I can and for as far as possible. Yes, it is a happy poem and I loved to write it as I daydreamed of successful acquisitions of living life to the fullest!
    Enjoy your week!

You remind me so much of that surfer whose arm was taken by a shark but, as soon as she healed, she was back on her surfboard. There are some people absolutely nothing can keep down. I'm very proud to say I know one of them -- and it's not the surfer!

Thank you Michele for this wonderful compliment. I see success as though I will succeed to the fullest no matter what! It is the only way I can see it as a oneway proposition...success!

I enjoyed this poem very much, Jesse. It's inspiring and uplifting. It flows very well and the rhyming is very good and unforced.

I often have dreams of running, but I'm usually bounding, almost flying, with huge steps that cross great distances. Not exactly sure what this means, but it is a recurrent dream.

Oh to be able to run again, or even walk briskly without the fear of losing consciousness as a result of being so out of shape that I cannot bear the physicality of swift movement. Your poem is buoyant, bouncy and so much fun to read and imagine. I loved it.

Yes, we all share the dreams of being fit and being able to walk and run at our most total capacity but as we grow older we lose those abilities sadly so.
Thanks for describing my poem as buoyant, bouncy, and fun to read and imagine. We all love to imagine the best of life's achievements, don't we?

I really enjoyed reading this poem. It flowed smoothly and has the rhythm of someone chasing something as is the case with the dream you describe.

Our dreams have power and so do words. I hope both your dreams and your words will help you achieve the reality you seek.

A small typo, as also mentioned by another reader-- 'guards' needs to be changed to 'guard' as it goes with 'shields'.

Thank you, Sherry. I already changed the typo you pointed out to me (as well as others, as you pointed out to me). I appreciate your kind words and good wishes. I will continue to dream and accomplish all the dreams I have set out for me to do. Have a great week,

I really enjoyed this poem. The subject matter was fun and light hearted. The words flowed smoothly and I loved the rhyme. It was very descriptive and I loved the sense of freedom the running and sailing gave me.
