I just read the number one and number two winners of this contest. Your poem should have won this contest. Very good job. Better luck next time.

Thank you Paul. A very encouraging review, and greatly appreciated. I think their poems had humour and were probably better written than mine (better metre, probably). (We don't celebrate Thanksgiving, so it was hard for me to get really excited about it - but it seemed to me a bit overdone with the main emphasis on huge amounts of food, so my poem's theme was probably not so much appreciated.)

Their poems were not better written than yours.

The author's words are filled with meaning, are descriptive and creative.
I enjoyed these words very much. Being thankful everyday is a great way
to live our lives. I believe also, as the author states, we should reflect on
our gifts daily. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is
awesome!

This is such an inspirational poem, it should be published worldwide. Yes, thanksgiving must happen ceaselessly, with every breath we take -- everything created belongs to God.

Thank you for reminding the readers to develop a culture of prayer and giving thanks every day. This practice has already been forgotten by many people nowadays. Your message was clear in each line. Thanks for sharing.

You are so right... No need for a national holiday to reflect on our many blessings and make it a point to always "pay it forward!"
Today, over Thanksgiving dinner, my eight year old grandson said:
"I'm thankful that I'm smart enough to realize the good in my life!"
Amen, Maxwell!

Clever and wise little boy! Thank you for your lovely review. And even though we don't celebrate the day, I hope all the FS people had a very happy and meaningful day.

He is incomparably brilliant.
(And I'm not at ALL biased just cuz he's my grandson!)

Very nicely done. Very true sentiments. I was a little confused by the first two lines. Presumable you mean where you come from. It might work better if it was 'generic'. Something like:
We should not have "Thanksgiving" Days -
But try each day to give Him praise,
(just a thought) Kate xx

Hi Kate, no I didn't mean that people shouldn't have Thanksgiving, but my country doesn't. Yet we are not impeded from giving praise, as we can and should be always offering thanks. But at the same time, Thanksgiving Day is not simply about feasting, (and ticking a box to say we are thankful), it should be about a lifestyle where thankfulness transmits into an attitude of caring and sharing.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. I appreciate it.

We should always be in a place of thanksgiving, of being grateful in the Lord for the goodness that pours forth from very depths of the heavenlies into the hearts and souls of a grateful, people. Beautifully written in articulate aabb tetrametric rhyming, well done, blessings Roy

Very musically and thoughtfully written, Wendy.
Thanksgiving should be every
day. We thank the good Lord
every day for His love and
generosity. A life of gratitude
to God is a life well lived.
Many blessings to your
kind heart. ~

This is really good. I felt the heart, i felt the compassion, the structure is nice, rhythmic, uncluttered. One of the best poems ive read on the site.
