I see you've filled int he blanks from the previous chapter... I cannot write prose so who am I to suggest... but it seems Fenton's observations are pivotal, and he had only the slightest of mention, the man with birth defect, previously so I'm befuddled on how he put the rest of this all together and ended up on Cooper's doorstep. With a frightening package delivered no less! It all fits together, but the loose threads are tenuous!

Maybe I am too subtle. I didn't want Sandy to reveal who Fenton was so I downplayed him in that chapter. Maybe too much?

Actually, like any avid reader, I was too anxious and YOU were smart... Making me think and revealing more as you go.

Yes, those surprise packages aren't always a gift to look forward to getting. Sometimes, they're open with a bang. LOL. Thanks for sharing another outstanding chapter.

Surprise packages... fireworks of some kind, but what? Thank you as always, my dear. I so enjoy seeing your smile as I wade through these reviews, thankful that I have them and ashamed it takes me so long o respond.

Well, the suspense is intensifying in this post and the mystery is slowly getting demystified. The introduction of a package from an unknown sender is another conflict that the readers will follow for sure.

Good morning and please accept my apologies for the delay in responding with a heartfelt thank you. Been traveling to care for my grandchildren and the old bones can't seem to go as fast as they use to do. I appreciate your time and the review.

Cooper seems to be a nice man, and genuinely wanted to help Fenton. I'm now left wondering if that packet has something not very nice in it. I can quite understand Fenton being nervous about talking and about staying. Not being treated so nice before, I'd not trust him either. But I think he's proved he's one of the goodies! Another wonderful chapter, my friend, a virtual six! Love and hugs. Sandra xxxx

Sorry for another delay but life threw me a curve and I ended up on a plane to North Carolina and my grandchildren. Surgery for one and Nana's care for the others. Settling down now for a few days so I wanted to make sure I thanked everyone for reading and commenting on the stories. I truly appreciate your time and comments... Smiles and hugs, Carol

This is another excellent chapter. You moved the story along nicely. The hook at the end, and the package, make me want to keep reading. I look forward to the next chapter.

Thank you as always my dear friend. May I assume the three stars was by accident or is there a reason you were unhappy with the chapter?

    How do I change that?

LOL You go back in and register the number of stars as if you were doing it the first time. It should change. Thank you so much... I hoped I didn't deserve a three. Have a great day!

Oh-oh. Did someone send a bomb? It's good that Cooper is looking out for Fenton's safety. Glad that Fenton was alert and able to record all that he overheard and saw.

Suggestion: - completely up to you!
Her heart ached to see the strained look (this makes it feel like she longed to see the strained look)
Maybe: Her heart ached when she saw the strained look

Oh my, this is very interesting. He has an idea of someone to help him find the jewels, he is kind enough to protect Fenton, and he has a guest house apparently full of bodyguards! Then his mother carries a mysterious package into the library.

A good cliff-hanger! Wondering what's in the box and who sent it. There's so much happening in this book, and it's all very interesting. I'm glad you're writing again. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

This chapter is short but intriguing. You need to write fast so I can find out what is in the box that was delivered to Cooper. I will be waiting and looking forward to the next chapter.
