This is a good 5-7-5 entry. The text is a great size. The message is clear. Yes, the almighty cat can and will destroy a Christmas tree. Good luck in the contest.

    Ciao!

Cats love to explore Christmas trees but they get frustrated when their owners try to keep them away.

In a moment of distraction cats can get their revenge ( biggrin)

If they can?t enjoy the Christmas tree than no one will!

    Thank you sharing !

Oh my goodness, that picture is hilarious! However, the poem itself doesn't really stand on its own to fit the prompt -- the picture DOES show an animal, but nothing in the words written (as witty as they are) lets us imagine an animal is doing the talking. (Not quite exceptional but...)
But, combined WITH that picture it is enough for me to want to save this wee poem so that I can enjoy it again -- the words, on their own OUTSIDE of this particular prompt, are evocative -- there could be several ways to imagine the scene, and how it took place. Of course, the syllable count is also correct for the format.
Excellent.

The title ME explains who is talking . who is leaving ..thanks for reading and reviewing my wee poem despite your reserves.

I don't see why you want to judge my poem without the pic seeing pictures are allowed?

As all feline owners know , cats and Christmas trees can create some issues..they love to climb, explore, play , chew on them causing us stress.

This cat took matter into his own paws. If he is not allowed to play with it then no one is going to enjoy it..

That is my take but the scene is open to interpretation.

    Keep safe!

The contest is "witty animal, 5-7-5" -- "me" doesn't explain it is supposedly the animal talking without the picture -- you could still be the speaker. And yes, pictures are allowed, but good writing (I was taught) should always stand alone.

I'm sorry if you felt I was "judging" -- what I was doing was giving you an honest review... Passing on what I was taught.

And speaking for all cat owners isn't exactly correct either -- Lol. MY cat, Miss Prissy, never so much as looked at my Christmas tree -- highly unusual, I admit. The cat I now own will undoubtedly do as you describe.

But if you like, let me know who you are after the contest and I won't upset you by reviewing for you again.

Oh dear, this cat has caused havoc and they have to conquer Christmas trees as they consider them an unnecessary intrusion, your words are magical, love Dolly x

Glad you enjoyed the poem. Cats and Christmas Trees ..a recipe for disasters. They are very tempting ...cats love to climb, explore, play with the ornaments hanging on the branches.

This caused family members lots of stress.

Looks like this cat took matter into his own paws.

If he is not allowed to play with it then no one is going to enjoy it.

The scene is open to interpretation ..main thing is that you found it entertaining.
