Lol. I like your allusion to the "Owl and the Pussycat" - a very odd poem indeed. I don't think the two would get along but they both have mesmerizing eyes! Congrats on your contest placement!

And Happy Birthday !!! -12/2

Thank you Helen, you?re so lovely. Ha ha I really enjoyed writing that little three liner!
I?m sorry I?ve not been around much recently, Ben?s been staying with me (and will be until after the new year) which doesn?t leave me much time to write or review! I?ll be back with renewed vigour in 2023 and do a load of catching up then.

We'll catch up again in January. Have a lovely time with Ben!!

This is a good 5-7-5 entry. The text is a great size. The message is clear now that you shared the verse from the poem. The verse was hard to read
because there are so many odd symbols sprinkled through the text. The visual you have selected is beautiful and fits well.
Good luck in the contest.

Thank you very much Sandra, for your review.
Yes, there seems to be quite a problem with those odd symbols that keep occurring on Fanstory - ha ha I certainly didn?t write it like that, it appears to happen between the writing and the saving. I?ve seen it too on various messages.

A brave admission. Would you also forgo plenty of money? Actually, I always thought the Owl and the Pussy Cat were rather a mismatched couple. Can one really marry into another species?

Ha ha I don?t hate cats, but I did think maybe an owl might. As for the money, it was theirs anyway wasn?t it? They took it with them.
    Thank you for your review.

I personally love pussy cats but that does not make this poem any less amusing - well done. It is a wonderful take on Edward Lear's work and fulfills the requirements of a witty animal 5-7- poem well.
Good luck with it

That is a cute nonsense rhyme ,The owl and The Pussy cat.I can't imagine pussy cat dancing with the owl .The owl has every reason to hate the cat and burn the boat.
very nice 5 7 5 . innovative.

Ah but you just have to let your imagination run riot, which is what Edward Lear evidently did! Lol
    Thank you for your review.

You made me smile as you remember this magical poem by Edward Lear that we had to learn to write in shorthand when I was at college! I shall never forget it, love Dolly x

Ha ha what a very strange choice when learning shorthand! The prof must have been a Lear fan.
I always like to make people smile Dolly, I'm glad it did that for you.
    Thanks for your review x

Bravo! and what about the five pound note? :) I believe that's in there, too - something's wrapped up in a five pound note. ? :)
Cute, cute 5-7-5! clever and humorous. I'd be interested in the number of responses you get from those who dont know what in the world you're talking about.
I'm with you on cats. Give me a dog any day.
Very nice!

Hi Katharine, some honey and plenty of money - but this owl would eat the honey and save the money.
Oh whoops, I presumed everyone knew The Owl and The Pussy-Cat - should I perhaps put the real poem in the notes do you think?
I loved your review, it made me laugh, thank you.

Hi, this is well done. Great use of imagery, good sense of humor. The graphic also worked well for this reader. The use of concise language was very effective, answered the prompt well. I hope you keep on writing such great verse.
