You have made excellent use of the seventeen syllables the prompt calls
for. Likening the comforting quality of a mother's touch to eating ice cream--so creative.

My mom used to rub a damp cloth on my forehead. It worked miracles. I really enjoyed this 5 7 5. Such a difficult thing to put emotion and depth in a concise piece. You did beautifully. Gretchen

Oh, I can so identify with this, I think my daughter would agree. Her three young daughters certainly would. A mother's loving touch can never be surpassed. I enjoyed reading this. Ulla:)))

I think most kids feel this of their mother's touch when they are sick. The way eating ice cream on a hot day is a good metaphor for the healing effects of hugs and rubs.
Keep writing and stay healthy

This 5'7'5, Mommy Cares, has the proper formatting and reminds all of the readers whose time with MomĀ“s lap and her gentle patting has been some time ago that it was real and so sorely missed.

There is no touch that can compare with the loving touch of a mother who loves her child. Tis is especially true when the child already knows that his mother loves him. It s more difficult if there has been nothing before hand to demonstrate this love. When the child knows, any act from the mother can have miraculous healing properties toward a child that does not feel well.

I have got to admit I didn't understand the last line of your poem until I read the author's notes but now I understand completely. Her ice cream is healing. It is a metaphor for her healing touch and I love this one. It strikes me as my healing purrs from my kitty Sunny how she heals me with her purring loud. She snuggles with me when I am suffering just like your mother did when she offered her healing touch. Her ice cream healing tells me all I need to know. My mother offered such healing when I was feeling low. Thanks for reminding me of healing and how it comforts us when we are down and blue.

Actually, I can relate strongly to this tender sentiment. I loved that you compared a mother's soothing touch to the sweetness of cold ice cream on a hot summer's day. How perfect! There is nothing like knowing someone cares when you don't feel well, whether child or grownup. Thanks for this lovely little poem that says so much in a few words. MM

The first two lines of this poem flow and connect well. The last line says
it all! I enjoyed the read of these words. They are so meaningful and true.
The artwork is awesome and compliments both the theme and words of
this poem. Happy Thanksgiving!....Maria
